Ugh, man i hate to say it but CDMA tech phones are known for their poor battery life(ie EVO 4G) compared to similarly equipped gsm devices so I can definitely say that since this will have even worse battery life than the Desire HD. GSM phones have always had battery life so looks like an extended battery might be a must here.

blah, o well I dont mind keeping a car charger and all that. Never had anything other that BBerry and never had a concern about battery life haha

Ya the pros of this phone easily overcome the cons. 768 MB of RAM, amazing software, 2nd gen snapdragon, frontfacing camera, kickstand, 4.3 inch screen, it's going to be a great phone!

Ok guys here is my update for the night..I have something special coming besides pics and some specs....So for now ..

I confirmed os is Froyo, sense 2.5, battery appears to be the same as the Desire HD (its brother for sure) and release in "very very soon". Now for the pics and some cool stuff. I will open a new thread once its ready to go....I am hoping for release late tonight or "later tonight" but it could push to the morning. there are some things I am not in control of. Unfortunately..... that's life

Well look at the incredible. It just got a 1750 extended battery, at not cost to size. Hopefully we could get the same, or something like it.

how bad is the desire hds battery? i plan on getting this phone since there wont be lte in my area and i cant wait anymore for a droid...

Pretty bad for a 4.3 inch screen. Check out the review from Engadget:

The biggest problem is getting an extended battery that will actually fit into the aluminum casing.

They do use less battery, but this battery is really small compared to the other batteries used in most smartphones. The Droid X has a 1500 mAh batter, this only has a 1230 mAh battery. HTC seems to like using small batteries lol. Nevertheless, I'm still buying this phone.

Yeah that's true, by th fact that it is CDMA based negates that advantage so basically were looking at EVO 4G battery life. It might be a little better, but I'm betting against it just because it is skit faster.

Right, second gen snapdragon uses less power, but the Desire HD has a sec. gen and they said battery life was a problem. There is no way to get a higher capacity battery in that phone. Unless you have one with different chemistry.

Oh well, it has power saving modes and you will learn to live with it. I am not worried about it.

Glad i am working tonight and tomorrow night. I am going to wear out the f5 for sure.

No unfortunately it will have been changed in color as far as I know...and CDMA only on release (not to say there wont be world edition too like the d2)
