But this is not an announcement its a leak.

Right now it is neither. As it sits now, it is a claim. A claim that anyone could make. The reason it has become an issue is because this claim was made by an admin of this site. If you or I make this claim, no one cares, but because he did, it is a bigger deal. It may end up that I am wrong about all this, but it won't change the fact that it was handled poorly from the get go.

There is the issue. Any of us could make a claim that a phone was coming on such and such a day. But the fact is - no one would care. And quite frankly - predicting that VZW is going to release a phone the week of Thanksgiving isn't that hard. Sure...Verizon is bound to introduce a new phone Thanksgiving week. They have done that many times in the past.

The problem here is that a "Trusted" admin on this site claimed to have inside information and an official release date. He went on to claim that he already had pictures in hand and was just waiting for Verizon to clarify some information on the final specs. Now two weeks later and after many broken promises of when this information was going to be released (tonight, tomorrow, shortly, in an hour) we have nothing. Even this weekend on this thread people who also claimed to be in the know said that it was coming today. Ok. It is noon...and nothing. Actually it is 1:00 in Miami's world...and nothing.

If an Admin claims to have something and plays a shell game for two weeks that is a serious issue. Sure, he has a family and a job and other things that are clearly more important. But - it would have been better for the sake of the reputation of this site to not say anything unless he was prepared to back it up with real facts. This has become no different than all the crazy claims/rumors about the Verizon/CDMA iPhone. We have all gotten tired of people claiming to know a CDMA iPhone is on its way. Yet - no one has proof, pictures, early phone, etc. Miami has basically put himself and this site into the same boat as the countless CDMA iPhone rumor starters. Until either group provides proof - they are just spreading rumors to try and drive traffic to their site.

I believe that this site should demand a higher standard than being just a tabloid source for Android rumors. Give us some proof...not just promises of something that NEVER happens.

The fact that Miami is silent in all this makes me think this is just not true. I have tried to be sympathetic about this - but when you make countless claims you eventually lose credibility. Now some of the defenders are saying who cares if Miami shows us the goods - we will find out on the 23rd. Give me a break. That is a cop out.

The iPhone rumor starters say the same tired old thing. "I have no proof that an iPhone is coming to verizon in 2011 - but just wait and see. It is."

Why would you say you have info then get mad when you dont deliver and get questioned about it. both site and maimi has lost some creditability. Nobody cares if he has a family... Family first..Work second, a hobby forum definitely does not compare. Hes an admin yes..for a site that allows people to get on their soapbox and share their opinions on the same stuff that excites us..give the guy some latitude..he definitely does not owe us anything other than keeping the forum clean and void of "potty mouthers".

This is a Forum...Forums are mostly about speculation and discussing your favorite things with other people that enjoy what you enjoy...Its a bonus that we get news too..just gives us more to speculate about...

anyways, this phone is ballin', and I cant wait...I don't wanna get my posts banned or deleted, so I'm going to stay on topic...

I really want the kickstand...hdmi doesnt really matter to me because I have external hdd..but I could see the use in one...more options mean MORE AWESOME!

I have a question for everybody going from the past when a phone was leaked for example Droid X. It was leaked a month or 2 earlier then Motorola Had a conference announcing the The phone is coming. Other then the Leaked Picture HTC has made no announcements at all and they had 1 or 2 News conferences since the leaked Picture. Do guys really think this phone is coming this month? I just have a feeling it will not come out until Christmas or the 1st Q of next year.. I hope that I am wrong!!! If there is no announcement soon by HTC about this phone. I am going with Christmas or the 1st Q of 2011.

Think of the Droid 2. We knew about that months before the silent release of it. Motorola had no giant announcement. They just sort of put it out there and even denied its existence when we had clear evidence of the phone.

The Droid 2 Was leaked and pictures was out not to long after the Droid X. What let me know it was really coming was a leaked list of the phones coming out for Verizon about month before the release. But for this phone nothing!!! Just the same pictures from August!!! A guy in my van pool that work for Verizon Wireless cooperate said they always get new phones in to test a month before they hit the stores. He said that he have not seen the phone as of yet other then the articles I have shown him. But also adding that that we are still in the 4th Q and they can get the phone in a few weeks. That is another reason. I believe he is telling me the truth because ha told me about the DX before the announcement. Also you guys that are attacking Miami should stop the guy has a life other then this Forum some of you have been acting like kids!!! I want the info now and you know when you where kids and threw a fit like you guys on this forum in a store our parents would of ripped us a new one.. So chill and be patient!!! Miami will post them as soon as he can!!!... He came through in the past and will come through again!!!

Oh believe me...if after all this back and forth over when Miami's scoop was going to be revealed...if we ended up with this phone in 10 days I would be very excited. But I have heard comments like "Just Wait" too many times over the past two weeks.

I would like to see the information behind this "source".

You're running a very dangerous line when you start making implications about the credibility of this site and admins. There has been a lot of solid and positive information provided through this site. If you want to get hung up on the exceptions to the rule, that's your issue. But I recommend being careful with your implications.

I believe Miami1683 has the info and he is legit, don't know him but I feel confident. I think others should realize this, first Miami is relying on "inside sources" which means to me that he has an agreement on how and when the details can be released. I accept it, I only check this thread twice a day and move on in between.

I would like this phone, but will be looking at the HTC Merge as well, and likely would get that. But I still read this thread because its a great new phone with hot specs, and why not read it.
