Having An Issue With 2.1 - Come In Here

i dont have time to read all of this thread, but there is a issue with the swype beta & 2.1 on moto droid.
when i updated it quit working, i uninstalled it, then reinstalled it & that fixed it

also, the gallery icon on the home screen wouldnt work, said i didnt have this application LOL, i deleted the icon then put it back & it works
these are the only issues ive had so far

A couple of people have reported this and fixed as you described. I don't use swype but I did not have a problem with my gallery. Most people are not having this issue, just some.

I'm not seeing much slowdown with live wallpapers. some seem better optimized then others, but generally I have too look to see any. Its slightly noticeable in the program slider area for me...

Now with the speech-to-text button on the text entry keyboard, the comma has been relegated to the number screen. Any way to switch that back, put the comma on front and put the speech-to-text entry button on the number screen?

I'm having troubles with the new gallery. It's constantly force closing, no matter what I do. And I'm not quite exactly sure where to find the Google Earth download.

I am confused.. 2.1 is out? I am still on 2.01 on my droid? I read about a week ago that it would be rolled out at 200,000 a day.. are there 10 million droids or something? I thought there was only about 1 million or so sold, which would seem in 5 days or so everyone should be updated, yet, here I am with no update. Is there any rhyme or reason to who gets updated, when, any notice when, etc? I'd sure like to get the damn OTA already.. 3 months late is long enough.

So for those experiencing issues and slow downs a factory reset may help. I was experience a slow UI that seemed to be getting worse and worse after the 2.1 update until I bit the bullet and reset it, everything is in good working order and back to the speed it was before the update. It was kind of a pain to reinstall and reset all my settings but the info on my sd card remained intact through the process.

mines the same perf wise.. if im run a taxing live wallpaper then its clunkish, which is expected imo.. more resources in use from that..

no you don't need root access to do this update

The only problem I am having with 2.1 thus far is that the system hasn't giving me the opportunity to update!!! Aaahhhhhhhgggggggggg!

Delete the icon from your home screen and re-add it. That will fix the problem. Many people have reported Google Earth disappearing from the market. Hopefully it will return soon.

They just started the 200,000/day rollout last night. Was supposed to start on the 18th but got delayed.

and I don't think it was 3 months late. It was just over 4 months ago that we got 2.0.1. I don't expect a new update every month.

Just got an update but I guess its not the full one. FIRMWARE version 2.1-update 1. Got live wallpapers & 3d gallery. Anyone know if its going out in pieces? nevermind everything done .
