Holy Finishing Touches Batman, it's Sapphire 1.0

It was released back in July. Solves 99% of the bugs I've seen people mention.

But it's also available on the Market so I thought he might have had some weird licensing thing going on that wouldn't allow people to put it in their ROMs.

This is odd - I guess I never knew this was on the market.

I don't think any weird licensing is in play - the app is open source (otherwise, cvpcs wouldn't include it). But sapphire is synced up to eliot stocker's github, yet the version is at 1.7.5.2. Not sure what the deal is, unless he's stopped committing changes to his github and is only working on his "market" app.

I just saw this in SS4.7.
3. Google fix for Pandora (all streaming AAC) included - this is NOT the hack that disabled stagefright; this has FIXED stagefright

8. OTA patch capability - yet to be tested (on YOU ;))! I can now push out updates to all phones running my ROM. Everything EXCEPT a full ROM update. That is better left to you or Rom Manager. But any other updates, including patching APK's, I can now do automagically :):)

13. I'm told I don't promote this enough - you can change pretty much ALL colors in the statusbar, ON THE FLY. No reboot, no xml hacking.

Any ideas when this will be added to Sapphire?
Also will it include the new ChrometoPhone?

Where do we find this update?

We don't. Yet. That's just the changelog of what's coming in the next release.

1.0 is my first Sapphire ROM; when this update is released do we just install it like a patch (no data/cache wipe)? Or do we need to reinstall the ROM fresh (wipe data/cache, etc)?

It depends on if anything major has changed since the last release. If not, then no wipe, but if something major does then it would be recommended that you do. Though cvpcs always says wipe.

Thanks for the response. Can't wait for the update!

My wild ass guess is, if the next release is 1.0.x, you might be able to get away with not wiping. cvpcs was going to have a policy that related to version numbering, but I'm not sure what became of that.

I'm going to wipe when it's out because he removed chrome to phone and I want to start fresh with that and get it from the market. But that's a personal decision. I always like to start clean with new versions.
