Holy Finishing Touches Batman, it's Sapphire 1.0

It depends on if anything major has changed since the last release. If not, then no wipe, but if something major does then it would be recommended that you do. Though cvpcs always says wipe.

Sent from my Droid

Thanks for the response. Can't wait for the update!

My wild ass guess is, if the next release is 1.0.x, you might be able to get away with not wiping. cvpcs was going to have a policy that related to version numbering, but I'm not sure what became of that.

We need 1.0.x release to tide us over. :)

I'm going to wipe when it's out because he removed chrome to phone and I want to start fresh with that and get it from the market. But that's a personal decision. I always like to start clean with new versions.

I have already downloaded and installed all the latest gapps updates posted in the market and moved them to /system/app. Hoping I can install over 1.0.0 a 1.0.x release :)

Good luck. :) Let us know how it goes! For me I'll use my titanium backup and restore the data for the new gapps and then restore the rest of the apps with data. It works as long as I use a VERY specific set of steps.

I hear ya.. it would be a first for me since I have always wiped data/cache before a ROM install. But hey maybe it can be done this time around. We shall see.

FYI, I know this is off topic but some of you might have remembered me rambling about my lack of signal at home while my wife and daughter run around the house with their AT&T crap with full signal off the new tower. I finally emailed VZW and they called me today and offered me a heavily discounted network extender. So, I should be getting that soon and will finally have signal to work with in my house. WOO HOO! (And by heavily discounted, I'm not joking. 100 bucks off, plus 100 dollar rebate. I was pleased)

Is that the one that does 3G? Aren't there two different extenders and one of them only does voice?

I don't think the 3g one is out yet, unfortunately. I'd be MOST happy if it was! I think it's the old one. My guess is they're doing the rebate right now to try to push the "old" inventory while they get ready to release the new ones. That's just a guess.

I think he meant for any of the individual gapps that have been updated since Sapphire 1.0 was released. I always update in the market when updates are available, as well.

Yes recently Google released updates to voice search http://www.geardiary.com/2010/08/13/google-releases-voice-actions-for-android/ and chrome to phone in the market and there is a leaked gmail update not yet in the market. http://pocketnow.com/android/gmail-221-leaked-brings-cool-new-features

And don't forget the latest SuperUser is now in the market. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828

And of course the latest Eliot Stocker Music Mod is in the market. http://development.piratemedia.tv/author/admin/

The kernel that comes with the build is 125-1000 LV kernel, and tethering is supported.
