Questions on Update

Okay... I did the update... rebooted.... firmware says 2.1-update1
I see the live wallpaper, set it up... it works (very cool!). I thought the "apps slide up thingy" was suppose to look kinda 3-d (like launcher2.apk), mine looks like the regular 2.0.1 tab that you pull up from the bottom, any thoughts?

Cannot remember, is the 2.1 update suppose to have 5-panels or still the 3-panels (I have 3)

Also, thought I read that someone was playing flash files? That available from Adobe now? Would make for a wonderful night!

I can't get teh phone into safe mode. I hold the power button and teh menu button on the keyboard (its the button with 4 lines right?) until teh phone bumps and then buzzes and then I let go, it boots into normal mode. If I hold both buttons all teh way through it gives me teh red eye three times then boots normally. What am I doing wrong?

This is all related to me getting the launcher2 force close error.

The Nexus got 5 screens and the 3D app drawer in 2.1, but the Droid did not. If you want more screens I recommend the Helix Launcher.

Unfortunately the Flash post was just an April Fools joke. Hopefully soon.

hey ummm mines 2.1 update but it doens't have all the stuff it suppose to have will i still beable to update from this frimware i have to the REAL 2.1 cuz rly i dont like this at all

Got it Figured Out....

Seems like it has worked as advertised! Great directions on forcing the update!
Just loaded and set-up Helix-Launcher, very cool. Got the 5-panel I wanted now, life is good. Looking forward to the creative things apps developers will do 2.1 :icon_ banana:

it hasn't for me i still have 3 screen and only the gallery and live wallpapers......

Thx for the advice... did Helix Launcher, like it! I can live without the 3-D app drawer
Will have to look around and see if there are any more cool Live-Wallpapers anywhere.. like'm

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but there are way too many pages to read through lol

I have AdamZ's smoked glass 4.5, rooted and all that awesome stuff. If I force install this update, I understand that I will lose root. My question is, what about my smoked glass theme? Would that be gone too?

One quick question. I just heard that once you do the 2.1 update you loose the ability to root your phone. Is this true or can I still root and take advantage of any roms that come out after?

If anybody is worried that the 2.1 that we are installing manually is a messed up version, it isn't. It's the EXACT same as the update that verizon is sending ota starting in 20 minutes to 200,000 people.

This is the real update... If you mean that you didn't get the 3d launcher and 5 screens its because verizon didnt include this in the update. If you dont like this update, its the real deal =\.
