[HOW TO] Install the leaked Android 4.0.4 ICS build on the Droid 4 (XT894)

Just used the process on page 1 to go from unrooted, stock GB to .208. I rooted first, then used OTA Rootkeeper (protect root, temp. unroot, re-root), then put 208 in place via my SD Card. After the eventual reboot, I went back into OTA Root Keeper, did a restore root, and it appeared to work. I believe I currently have kept root, which should be pretty helpful when the official OTA update is ready.
Additionally, all my apps and data migrated perfectly. I did not have to wipe anything on it. Thanks a bunch guys!

Has anybody on .219 hit up the cheesecake servers? Honestly, its time to look for a new leak. Im happy on 208, but a new leak would be awesome.

Have you noticed any particular changes/improvement between the 206 and 208 leaks? Are the notification icons still small and dark? Radio performance?

Notification icons are small and dark still. The radio performance is better than 206, but the overall performance is a little better on 208. Only had to reboot once the other day.

Which build (.200, .206, .208) are you trying to install?

Okay so if I did my calculations correctly, a new ICS build MAY be on the servers now. Between the build date of .200 to .206, 12 days went by.

Build date between .206 to .208 -- 13 days went by.

Build date between .208 and another leak we have no clue about may be 12-14 day period, which we are in. Somebody needs to check the servers over the next 2 days.

i tryed .200 and .206 and they both did the same thing. i cant do .208 because i dont have a sd card
During the update, press both volume buttons at the same time. A log of what is happening will appear; when it fails, you will see exactly what file(s) it is having trouble with. Let us know what the error message is.

You can't use Rom Manager. You have to use the stock recovery. No Rom Manager/bootstrap or Safestrap setup can be installed. Stock ROM (root okay), with stock recovery.

The only thing stopping me from doing this with the 208 is the fact that I may not be able to be on path for OTA anymore :-/ Anyway we can find out if this is inevitable or not??

Technically this is a possibility, but considering that there is a method to go from .200 -> .206 and .206 -> .208, the consensus seems to be that the same method will work to upgrade to the OTA.

Your build.prop file has been modified. Download the Droid 4 system dump (part 1, 2, 3), extract the build.prop file, and replace the one currently on your phone. Repeat as necessary with any other files that may cause the update to fail.
