I wish they would just say what the data pricing is, if it is at $30, I may just wait and get the Thunderbolt, but if it's anymore than that, then I will be getting the X

I can't remember if this was addressed in here (don't wanna go through 60 pages) I travel between Pensacola, FL and Destin, FL a lot over weekends (go to school in 1 and I go home for a the weekend in the other) There will be 4G coverage in Pensacola sometime this year, but the other one prob not for a while, if I get the thunderbolt with the 4G data plan will I be able to use 3G when I'm at home??

take this how u want, but I just called the promotional line from verizon where I got my $9.99 unlimited plan to ask them if I would still have the 20 dollars discount when I switch to 4g and he told the as of now 4g is goin to be the same price so yes I will still have my discount

It is not clear yet whether you will be able to just take your LTE sim card out and only get billed for 3G when not in a 4G area. My guess is they will try to keep it as simple as possible, because it could become a billing nightmare, logistically speaking, if people keep switching back and forth all the time. I think the 2 most likely options are: (1) forced 4G pricing at $10 more per month over 3G (so $40/month for 4G data), regardless of availability in your area, or (2) $30 unlimited for both 3G and 4G (so availability is not a problem for people). I think it could get pretty complicated otherwise.

Worst case scenario Verizon gets everyone hooked on 4G speeds and feeds as they build out the network then raise prices later on. They need to sell it before they raise it.

I think with all these leaks, it'll come out the 14th at best buy, and 24th at verizon stores. just my opinion. it's just too bad my upgrade isn't until the 17th... maybe they'll let me upgrade 3 days early lol

ThunderBolt vs. iPhone 4
Thought this was funny, I bet there will be a lot of this going on in 3 weeks!

February 14 guys, this is a fact.

Now pricing is like.... I don't even know. Could be anything, really, seeing as though Verizon was debating tiered pricing. Personally, my money is on them tiering data plans not speeds, and giving us a 4G Unlimited plan for..... $35? Pure guess, though.

nothing is a fact until its announced, haven't we learned anything yet?

I just got the Incredible until the Bolt comes out. My company just switched from Nextel to big red. Our rep said the bolt is in his system that he will receive 2/14. Whenever it is, there is one reserved for me and I'll give this loaner back. Just moved from a blackberry 8350i with download speeds around 30k!

Watch the unboxing video:

HTC Thunderbolt: Unboxing The Beast : Online Social Media

When he starts it up it says "No SIM card in phone (Emergency Calls Only)."

So yes a SIM card is required for this phone to function. All signs, vzw reps, and even my local rep are pointing to $30 unlimited 3G/4G. That is the official word from my local verizon store too. They are the ones that have these devices out and using them/training on them every day, and probably a list of data prices and plans for the new LTE phones. I'll take what they say as official as it gets, until a official release date is announced.

:)

What's the difference between the thunderbolts dnla and hdmi?

Dnla you can stream the phone to a dnla device like a tv if it has dnla built in. Hdmi is a connection on the phone that u can plug directly into the tv. DNla only works over wifi. You can buy a DNLA adapter that has an hdmi out for tv's with out built in dnla.

Now if Dnla could work over 4g that would be something...

Wikipedia article which is NO help (had to link it as it's the worst page I have seen on wikipedia and that's saying a lot):
Digital Living Network Alliance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Actually helpful link:
Home media streaming 101: DLNA explained

My blu-ray player is a dlna hub so basically I can wirelessly stream straight from the TB to my BluRay player and have stuff show up on the TV. Sure beats one more cable.
