I agree with Beardface (cool name btw) and Abe21599. I feel like alot of people in general that a vzw customers will turn to the iphone, probably those not members of the forum as well as those that want to buy aesthetic over quality. But i think if, and that's a big if, the iphone comes to Verizon then there will be huge decreases in the production of our android devices now. Look at how big red is acting now, releasing phones that don't seem to have a purpose other than target other demographics. And there is still no mention of any updates to current devices or eta on if we will get any updates. I still have hope that the specs of the rumored superphone and possibly the droid 2 global then there may still be hope for android devices and their development.

It is curious Google or Motorola or HTC has not responded to this Iphone news. I would think they would be a bit concerned or worried.

How about another option in the poll?

iPhone isn't coming to Verizon : )

In all seriousness I wish these rumors would just stop. It's not happening.

I wonder if the iphone is coming to verizon wireless company Vodaphone wireless. If vzw was bringing the iphone I would think they would have made news for news that big. Why risk people signing a new 2 yr with att to get an iphone 4. They would have announced it so people would wait IMO. Vodaphone been talking about getting the iphone for a while and Im curious if they are the company getting it and not vzw.

Just wait until December 31st or for some actual facts come out before making polls and writing opinions. You might just be wasting your time.

Wow, a forum user telling a forum ADMIN what he can and cannot post..... Some folks have alot of nerve. If Miami has reason to believe it's coming to VZW, it probably is.

Do I think it will make a significant dent in the Android marketshare? Well, hard to say; it sort of depends on the consumer. Some people have the "Sheeple" mentality and will go the iPhone route, simply because it's "cool" (although I think alot of the "cool" will wear off once it's no longer exclusive to one network). The folks who actually APPRECIATE what they can do on Android over what they can do on iOS will not switch. And finally, some of us are too heavily invested in the Android app market to switch platforms and have to repurchase all of our apps.

Me? Well, I already own a bunch of iOS software for my iPod Touch, so depending on what is out on the Android side once the iPhone hits, I may give it a try; OR I may stick with Android. If they come up with a working Android install for the CDMA version of the iPhone, even better; then I could dual-boot.

I'm gonna have to quote you on that.

See what I did there? ;)

Anyways, you may be right. I don't see Apple or Verizon blinking for control of the phone. Verizon is controlling Android and they love it. They would want to control the iPhone but Apple would hateee that. The only thing is, though, Apple knows it's biggest weakness is At&t and being on only one carrier. They may just HAVE to buckle to Verizon's bloatware.

If it does come to Verizon, I might switch to Sprint so I dont have to be with a carrier that supports the i*hone. I just hate crApple, and maybe Sprint will save me a little money as a bonus.
You could save a lot of money going to Sprint but why would you switch networks just because your current carrier added another power phone to its already impressive lineup?

Idk, pc747 i think Verizon would do something like release little leaked info on the possibility of the iphone coming the same way they did for the droid 2. Of course many people in forum communities knew of its imminent arrival while the mass consumer didn't know till it hit the airwaves with commericals. If they are doing the same with the iphone, think of the allure it would have on people that don't read forums as we do, they would be running in the streets and waiting in line for days, if for nothing else but to get away from at&t and their shoddy service.

I can't believe that no one on Droid Forums had pointed out that even though Android will lose some customers many will stay devote to Android due to the fact that there are way more options of phones to choose from. Instead of just 3 different storage sizes. The iphone is a great device no doubt but the open source development and selection of devices still leaves a large nitch for for Android devices to fill.

Personally I am bored by the iPhone and all of its istuff. I like my Moto Droid1 and will never by an iPhone. I think Android has only begun to show us its true potential and I think the people who bought an android device only because they didn't want AT&T should get a should get what ever makes them happy. But many who do switch from android may end up coming back because they may see how much better the Android phones are because they have something to compare it too.

I just want anybody who hasn't seen this video to check it out its kind of funny.

That's good news for everybody more competition always end in better prices, better service, and better future devices. Motorola wants to be the best so everybody else this is a win win situation.

honestly

In all honestly everyone I know on Verizon would own an IPhone if it was on verizon. Despite what all the Apple Haters say, the IPhone/IPod franchise is indeed "Good". The Iphone is easy to use, works well, and all around convenient as well as a house hold name. I own an IPhone 4 on ATT and a Droid on Verizon (the original). I purchased the IPhone because at the end of the day I wanted it and got tired of waiting for it to come to verizon. Now for the most part i use it for it's Apple features, and usually tether my droid and use my unlimitted Verizon data plan to support my data usage. But enough about me (lol). The IPhone is all an all a good device and the only thing it lacks at the moment is a good service provider. I guarantee an IPhone on Verizon will give droid a run for it's money. I mean kids will want it, teens will want it, and right on up.

I love my Droid, but I also wouldn't have bought it if IPhone was on Verizon last year.
