Kernels, Get Your Kernels, RED HOT Kernels! - Sapphire - 0.7.0

instead of typing adb logcat over and over you can type adb lolcat, it will wait for the phone to boot.

So, I did a full wipe, and installed sapphire 0.7. Applied the market fix, music update, and pushed voice search from 0.6.2, as well as JoelWRX's black bar theme.

So far, everything is working perfectly - no FCs. Too early to tell how battery life is, but temps are low 30's according to tempmon. Wifi is fine, 3G reception is fine.

Really appreciate all the work, Sapphire team! Donation coming your way.

Thanks,,,,,while i havn't tried your ROMS yet I understand what your doing and know your ROMS hold thier weight in gold.
Once 7.0 has some themes I will flash it.
Thanks again guys

SO just wondering, is there a possible ETA on a fix for the Location issue...

Not a deal breaker yet but might become one soon. I Know a fix for the weather location is to just put in a specific location instead of just trying to use gps location but would be nice to be able to have the location issue resolved.

Thanks

***EDIT***

Never mind...I fixed it...I just installed the networklocation apk from 0.6.2 and now all is working great...

Thanks again guys...GREAT WORK...

My voice search also didn't work. I pushed the voice search apk from the prior release and it worked. I rebooted this morning and it stopped working again. I tried reinstalling the old apk again, but voice search still doesn't work.

Has anyone else been able to get voice search to keep working after installing the old apk and then rebooting?

I miss voice search; use it all the time.

do you perhaps have one version in /system/app/ and another in /system/data/?

just be sure to remove the origina before pushing the new one

unless... youve already done that:)

Oooh...I need that. Can you post it?

I noted in my "Recently Orphaned - Looking For New ROM" thread that my droid was running a consistent 5 degrees F hotter with 0.6.2.

I'm pleased to say that is no longer the case with Sapphire 0.7.0. it is back to where it was before. Actually a degree lower.

The ROM is fast and smooth. very responsive. No sluggishness this time. Quadrant scores are way up and getting closer to where they were with TC Redrum.

Voice search issue could use a hotfix. I don't want to push the apk from 0.6.2 until I hear that is the official fix from CVPCS.

Great Job Team CVPCS!!!

Edit: Changed my mind and pushed the Voicesearch and Networklocation.apk from 0.6.2 anyway. They are working fine.

@cvpcs

im using metamorph, so missing images shouldnt be an issue. havent run logcat at boot yet but ill take a look at it a little later

edit: looks like my problem is gone on 7.0!

I couldn't get it to work on 0.7.0 last night, and will try later this afternoon to see if I can get it to work. If not I'm going drop by the IRC :p

Sounds like good advice. When I go into terminal emulator, the system won't let me delete the file; won't even let me change permissions on it with su privileges. I assume it's because the file is locked into read-only because it's in use? How can I delete the files? Thanks.
