LauncherPro Beta (SUPER FAST & SMOOTH Launcher!)

All I have to say is wow. This launcher is great, and Fede is so fast to try and fix problems. My phone loves these latest updates. Thanks Fede!

I was having the redraw issue. I played with the settings a bit and think I found one that works for me (at least it has so far). I use the "Keep in memory" feature and have my memory usage set to Moderate. I played around with some of the different usages, but this has been the most stable for me. Again, just my experience, but may help some.

I'm curious what spaces the ones that wouldn't take a custom icon were in. I think I've changed about every icon in my LP dock to custom at some point. Currently, though, the four spaces that come filled do all have default icons.

Starting at the ones that come filled I can't change the 5th and 7th one to custom icons (only ones I've tested that didn't work) they change to the default icon and the icon in spot 1 changes to the custom icon i want.
I've been able to change spots 1,2,4,5 and 12. The others do what I just said and/or I haven't tried to change those to custom icons.

As a workaround in the meantime, check out Folder Organizer. Or the free version, App Organizer, does this too, I think: you can set a custom icon in within FO for anything and choose Folder Organizer Item for your shortcut (then choose whichever app or folder). LP will see the icon you have assigned in FO as its default.
Hope this makes sense. '-)

what was that???

I finally switched to ADW and although the drawer scrolling isn't as smooth, I am happy not to deal with the redraw issue anymore.

Hey there Fede,

I was wondering if with LP we can get the SMS Count red dot to clear out if you got to your messages via the Notification Bar?

I have BB v.4 with a 1.2 GHz kernel, LP runs super smooth, no FCs in a week, and its great, the red dot count is FANTASTIC! But... It's slightly frustrating when I read my messages via the Notification drop down, go back home, and it still shows a number of unread messages (I have read them, the SMS app recognizes them as being read) but the red dot count is still there. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your amazing work!

It worked like that in 0.6.5 but it had to be removed because it was causing delays when going back home. It will update when you open the SMS app through LP's shortcut, when you rotate LauncherPro, or when a new SMS comes in.
OK. Thanks Fede!

I noticed it would clear out, would just be a nice "polish" to be able to get the unread mark gone from various routes. I'll keep my fingers crossed for its potential in the future, for now i am continuing to use anyway and its awesome.

Downloaded this to my Droid without any problems. My wife liked it and wanted it on her Incredible so I downloaded it for her. After installation I could not run the program. I uninstalled it and tried it again with no luck. Is there a setting that I'm missing or something else I need to do? It was straight forward on my droid, download, install and set as default. I don't know why I'm having trouble with her phone.

My coworker used it on his incredible with no issues. I guess you could try Home Switcher or do it manually by going into Settings > Applications > Manage apps then press Menu > Filter > All. Find the stock Launcher (Sense UI?) and click it and then choose Disable Defaults.

Yeah a buddy of mine has it on his Incredible also with no problem. I think my wife has been messing with the phone and screwed something up. I'll try your recommendations when she gets home, thanks.

+1 for Home Switcher
One of the handiest apps in the Market.
