Leak .242?

Thanks Samuri. I noticed the baseband version for 242 is the same as 232 which I have been running. If they intended to improve data connections wouldn't that involve radio changes?

Interesting. I am a novice with the technical side of this stuff so I appreciate your insight.

Yea, I honestly don't know, however, where the data drop issues are happening. Is it baseband? Kernel? Driver? I don't know. The baseband is one component but there are others that could have made a difference.

I didn't realize that there were more pieces to that puzzle. Today is an early success then, as I have learned something new.

Battery life seems bette, significantly, on 242. Haven't reset stats and recalibrated yet, but it looks like a solid 25-30% increase in lifespan so far.

I'm noticing better battery life than 238 which for me is saying a lot as I had no complaints. So far, I'm very impressed with this build.

So with all this talk about .242 I've become curious...normally I'd not really partake of any leaks that you cannot restore from, but I might have to on this one based on the positive buzz. Only thing is that a quick search comes up with nada for the actuall leak zip, where you guys getting it?

This is great news! Are you overclocked to 1.2? I know altspeed is.

Most people are using my House of Bionic to manage the leaks. I have a 242 support installer that contains the update, the boot.img, and a recovery.img for 242. The HoB makes it somewhat "safer" to play with leaks as it has built in support to allow you to move forward (as we have done from 235 to 238 and now to 242) without data or app loss and it can generate a "mini-fxz" that can restore you if you manage to soft brick. The caveat to that is that the 242 update must remain on your sdcard-ext in order for the REINSTALL option to work properly in the case of a soft brick. If you just want the update itself, grab the 242 installer package from my HoB thread and install it. It'll create a directory on your desktop with the 3 files in it that I mentioned.
