Manually Update to 2.0.1

The update worked GREAT!:icon_ banana:

Now, should we keep the update.zip file on the SD card? It's 10mb. It didn't delete it after updating

I'm wondering if we delete it, will Verizon come along and think we need to update again?
I was wondering the same thing

i'm new at this. how do i place it in the root directory of my sd card?

downloda file to your desktop...plug phone in....swipe down and click on usb...mount. then go to computer and find where the phone mounted...(e: or d: something like that)...click and you should see folders on your sd card. drag and drop the file...unplug...then proceed.

i tried all options, i'm getting a triangle with an exclamation mark in it when i hold the X and power on, following the steps the end result is ' update aborted "

Name the file Update ONLY. Don't worry about the .zip. It's screwing a lot of people up. The file should automatically end in .zip, and if you rename it that it will be update.zip.zip even if it doesn't show upt like that. Name it update and it will work.
Still didn't work. Getting this now:

E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command

-- Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to open /sdcard/update.zip (no such file or directory)
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

I think there's something wrong with the downloading on my part. I still get a folder with a bunch of files in it when I download the file. (MacOS with Safari)

Try renaming the file to just update. Drop the .zip see if that works for you

what exactly are you copying over to the card? is there an up button (not familiar with macos) where you can go up a level...see the compressed (rar) file and then copy/paste that?

It's a zip file, it's supposed to have a bunch of files in it. Make sure you don't "unzip" the file before you move it. Needs to stay zipped. That is the exact error i got when i named mine update.zip instead of update.

yes, I do have a question, when you say the root directory of my sdcard, is that in the 'sdcard' folder in astro file viewer, or the level above that?

have you tried downloading with another browser?
Tried with FireFox. It won't even download that way. I get a security certificate problem. When I add an exception, it can't find the file.
