Manually Update to 2.0.1

mount it to your computer like normal... your sd card is...then drop the file into the 'root' directory... (root directory is the main one... where all the folders are.... so just put it on the SD card but not in a folder...

can't figure out what i'm doing wrong...
any moves i'm missing...

unmount
power off
hold the X and power on
triangle with exclamation mark appears
press volume and camera side keys
scroll to sd-card update.zip and press gold square on the keyboard....

the file has to be named: update.zip
if it is not named that, it will not work. if you are not sure if the file is named correctly, browse to the sd card using the command prompt and do a DIR listing.
root FOLDER of the SD CARD. make sure everyone is clear on that. don't try to put it on the device, don't try to find a folder called ROOT, just mount the SD card and copy UPDATE.ZIP right to the SD card.

if your SD card is empty, this would be the only thing on the SD card.
if you are still having problems, you could try using a blank MicroSD card and copying the file there.

I've tried it both ways... update and update.zip
The hold folder gets dropped in the sd-card, not one file in that folder alone.

Thanks update worked wonderfully on my phone! GOOD LOOKS!
Go into contacts, hit menu button, select display options.... there are options in there as far as what to display.
what folder are you talking about? there shouldn't be a folder. just the update.zip FILE.
Like I mentioned in my post last night, the update went flawlessly. I also have all lights on keyboard and buttons as they should be. Though, I did play with the brightness settings a bit and also rebooted the phone, so possibly if there is an issue, that fixed it.
Seriously though, this update was a freakin' breeze.
