mount it to your computer like normal... your sd card is...then drop the file into the 'root' directory... (root directory is the main one... where all the folders are.... so just put it on the SD card but not in a folder...
if it is not named that, it will not work. if you are not sure if the file is named correctly, browse to the sd card using the command prompt and do a DIR listing.

root FOLDER of the SD CARD. make sure everyone is clear on that. don't try to put it on the device, don't try to find a folder called ROOT, just mount the SD card and copy UPDATE.ZIP right to the SD card.
if your SD card is empty, this would be the only thing on the SD card.
if you are still having problems, you could try using a blank MicroSD card and copying the file there.

Like I mentioned in my post last night, the update went flawlessly. I also have all lights on keyboard and buttons as they should be. Though, I did play with the brightness settings a bit and also rebooted the phone, so possibly if there is an issue, that fixed it.
Seriously though, this update was a freakin' breeze.
