Manually Update to 2.0.1

I did the upgrade, it was easy. Everything is fine of course though its a little underwhelming.

Now I worry about what will happen when the real upgrade comes.

Scrolling down a website seems more jerky though.

Ok. I don't think I've seen this one discussed. As far as I know I'm following the instructions perfectly. I named it update.zip and not update.zip.zip, I've downloaded the file from different links and different browsers and have tried it from the computer and all on the phone, but I get the same thing every time. Here's what I get:

E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command

-- Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
Verifying current system...
assert failed: apply_patch_check("MTD:boot:[tons of letters and numbers]")
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Help would be appreciated. TIA.

sounds like you have a bad zip file. try a different server.

ohh and can we downgrade once we upgrade ?in case.... or is it a one way movement ?

I would imagine a backup would do it....but this is a very Valid question. Does anyone know if there are provisions in place to restore 2.0 if 2.01 is not working out?

And please can someone check languages on the phone after update, is there any more than just English and spanish ?
please
Thanks

Ran the update and it worked like a charm........ Thanx for whoever made it available to us and for those of you that are still having problems, make sure you name the file update and not update.zip...... Once I made that change it worked as promised!

So now name it "update" not "update.zip"?
