Manually Update to 2.0.1

So I did the update and followed all of the instructions. It went through all the steps and at the end said installation aborted. I rebooted the phone and saw the new login screen and checked my about settings, and I am on 2.01, build number ESD56.

Is that what was supposed to happen?

Correct. Baseband should be C_01.3E.01P

My phone says after the update.......Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.....anyone else having this when trying to sync with facebook?
my gmail seems to be having trouble syncing after updating manually this morning. i just noticed it and starting to run tests now. anyone else?

I can verify the battery does last longer. I've had the phone off the charger for 5.5 hours and still have a 100 charge! I've been texting, checking email, using wifi, brightness turned all the way up, and all the usual stuff I do through out the day. Thank you Google!!!

PS. Update also fixed my Corporate Calendar!

Okay - half hour of browsing the market and a couple of "connection lost" windows, my Verizon tab has now replaced the Downloads tab - back to the original..

I kinda miss ol' Downloads. I was just starting to get comfortable with him hanging out there on the right side. But I guess Verizon is just too powerful and pushed him off into oblivion. ;)

Tabbed correctly - mikey

Have you guys (that are experiencing the mising verizon tab) restarted your phone. I had some funky little issues (like missing app tabs) and a restart put everything right back where it was suppose to be. I also have the verizon tab.

Restart as in restart to factory settings?

I'm sorry I ment reboot my bad :) You may even want to do a battery pull.

Just change the name of the file to update that worked for me

No, actually it's supposed to be update.zip. Renaming it to update only helps people who don't know that their file extensions are hidden. I have it named correctly.

anybody else?

No what i'm saying is after you drop the zip file on your phone right click on it rename to update not update.zip as it is already a zip file then go thru the steps on the front page to load on phone it works, at least try it.

and what i'm saying is that i've already done that. you have hidden extensions of known file types. when you rename it update it is actually update.zip and not update.zip.zip. i don't hide file extensions so when i name it update.zip, IT IS UPDATE.ZIP

My baseband says C_01.3B.01P

The phone is running so much faster though.

OK, mine started getting twitchy after the install. Thankfully I don't have a lot of settings personalized yet since my Droid's pretty new, so I did a factory reset and now everything works great, especially the camera.
so, if a factory reset is performed, the update remains? i've been wondering this.

Manual update completed sucessfully.
The problem with bluetooth phonebook transfer to my car is fixed.
Now, everything works well.
