Manually Update to 2.0.1

I updated and it worked, and it took a couple of restarts to work out all the syncing bugs. It seems to be ok, now.

The update worked, however I'm experiencing a few problems. I have duplicate entries of Camera, Car Home, and Market in my apps menu. Also, the Facebook app is different (not sure if this is an issue, seems to be better than the old one).

Don't really have time to check everything else out before I leave for work, but those are my main concerns.

If I can't fix these problems on this manual update, is there any way to revert back to 2.0 and wait for the OTA?

No but you should be able to simply trash the duplicates on your home page. And once again there is no difference between the manual and OTA. It's just the install that's different.

also try a battery pull! ive read a ton of posts back a few people had to pull the battery to get things to adjust.

hmmm I dont think I will be updating ,that browser bug scares me ,I use my browser a lot and I would be upset if it lagged...

You're going to have this problem once your phone is updated via OTA anyway.

Has anyone checked to see if this affects ALL browsers? Maybe Dolphin is better?

As stated, after restarting a few times it seems to had fixed all the bugs. Very happy win the update. However, I'm finding that even though going response has improved, typing is slightly more laggy. I am however finding it much easier to type on the soft keyboard wig 2.0.1.

Yeah,confirms it worked too! Dont really see that much of a difference, just minor things here and there, still playing around with it though, right off the bat i liked the lock thing

I have to agree with you. It appears that 2.0.1 fixed the alignment a bit. I previously had to type just left of center on the keys, now it is right on. :icon_ banana:

lot of people reporting much better response with the virtual keyboard... myself included

Your begining to drive me nuts playin pretend mod, windstrings.

For all I know a Mod might shut me up.... I just get tired of hearing people that either don't have the guts to complain under their own screen name and so register a brand new name just to stir discontent, or come for the express purpose to cause hate and discontention.

I'm new to pda/smartphone stuff and I don't have time for someone who post 3 posts one after another trying to get attention. "so I gave it to them"

If someone has a complaint, they can post it and wait for a comment or help.

If they just hate their phone and want a sympathetic ear they need to go to the I-phone forum.

I'm aways amused at people who think because they have a problem, that means everybody else much have it too and should uprise into a revolt rather than realize they may be unique or at least a voice in the wilderness.

My camera is much better than it was and in light of all the other awesome features, I can't toss my phone because the camera is not stellar.

Just how good does a camera phone have to be?

I had a dare 3.2mp before and it took execellent pictures, but the Droid blows it away in every other area.. including signal quality.

I haven't found a phone yet that will match the mp quality of a similar device dedicated to just being a phone.

There comes a point where you have to just deal with it.. or be patient, or take it back and get what you want.......

I'm sorry we can't have everything we want....Some of us are spoiled and used to getting everything.........

The Droid have far more features, toys and abilities than any phone I've ever dreamed of.

If anyone disagrees and carries the Droid, they have the wrong phone ... not a problem.. go get another.

The battery usually lasts a day and a half of me on and off it. I charged it 8 hours ago and its on it again now. No new Alps or updates just fact that sync feeds are on all the time now in task killer.

Just FYI - my battery life seems better - I usually get a full day of heavy usage out of it and recharge at night - now I still have over half battery this morning without it being on the charger last night (left usb cable at work) - Of course I don't have many feeds going on, just Gmail and beautiful weather updating - I think

I read on other forums that it does and does not affect other browsers. Someone pointed out the rendering of pictures, and that is probably it. We will just have to wait for Google to fix this, should not take long. Anyway, try Dolphin of Steal and see if it works.

a day now with forced updat (yeah still waiting to see if the verizon one will ever come???) LOL
anyway i too am liking the new lock screen, seems easier to unlock one handed, thumb just flicks instead of bending around.
hit some reg sites as well as some "nice" sites on my browser last night for about an hour and didnt seem to notice any lag other are talking about. i know i didnt get the accidental flip/fly to the bottom so maybe they helped that. i think alot of lag issues are due to peoples coverage and not the phone,
only weird thing was market app had the verizon tab back today, which makes me think it was there server end part of the app (the tabs are just like the content of any page they control, like any other website) it was just a coincedence on mine and many others part to be doing the update and wasnt on market beforehand then just happen to notice it....LOL
anyway dont notice anything bad from this update, some good things other minor im sure, am wondering if this is exact and fully just like what is being pushed to everyone??? was surprised the file size was only 10mb, updates in past on other phones are always 50-150mb??????

If my browser is lagging I sure as heck don't see it. There is definitely a little change in the scrolling while on web pages. It's not as smooth as before. But hardly worth complaining about.
