Manually Update to 2.0.1

Fix for "Facebook User" problems: Go to the news feed and refresh.

Did that... still have the issue.
I also chose the setting to add info about all Facebook friends to contacts. I don't see how that might affect this, but you never know. Other than that, I'm not sure what to do, refreshing worked wonderfully for me. It might require you to have actual new content to receive, though. Have somebody update a status.

got in on the pc... my droid wouldn't let me download the file... says it's not supported.... am i missing an app or setting to resolve this?

I downloaded with my computer... just ok'd the certificate and told it to make an exception.

Then had my usb cable hooked from my computer to my phone,
mounted my usb connection so I could transfer the file to my sd card,
then unmounted "so my phone could see my sd card" and unhooked the usb completely... then went to the install procedure.

If you still can't get it, I don't mind emailing it to you if you send me a PM

I was specifically referring to the Droid downloading the file after it is pushed from the remote side. If you want to try downloading the .zip file directly to your SD card via the Droid itself, you need a program like Astro, in the settings you can configure it to allow the browser to download "unsupported file types"

By default, the Droid's browser will only download specific filetypes.

Why do I keep getting a security warning about the sites certificate???????

the sites security certificate has expired. I can confirm it is a good patch and not a virus. I have it and have uploaded to my device. rebooting as we speak

I don't think the cert has expired, per se. If it had, the OTA likely wouldn't work. Like I said in my post about the whois info, I think it's looking for a specific cert on the phone which wouldn't be on most folks' PCs.

thanks for the offer. i'm running 2.01 right now :)
I did it that exact way as well. What I was asking is why, if any knew, my Droid won't let me download .zip files... any for that matter. What setting am i missing?

will installing the new update manually automatically "shun" out the intended OTA update sent amongst the phones?

i only ask since previous posters said that the popup was unavoidable, and that could be an issue for us in the next couple days.

I was just wondering the same thing. Just installed the update via SD card.. rebooting now.. and there it is. All good :] A lot smoother, quicker.. great

Yep. I used Dolphin to download, moved it from the download folder on the SD card to the root and renamed to update.zip.

Is anyone else concerned that the file is on an " Untrusted site" by Firefox? I wonder why the file is not on Google..or Motorola. I downloaded it..but may wait a day to install it.
