Missed Call for the Motorola Droid

i want Missed Call can disable the content display of sms on the notification bar, im using Handcent which have a Privacy Mode. I just want Missed Call to handle the LED and ringtone stuff for sms.

Wouldn't using Handcent for SMS/MMS reminders make more sense? I don't use privacy mode in it though so I'm not sure what that disables or enables you to do.

I just use Missed Call for calls, bluetooth, and battery.

I think I found a bug in Missed Call.

I installed it and tried out a few options - set it up to blink a different color depending on who calls, blink blue when bluetooth is connected, etc.

I connected bluetooth, but when I disconnected (and disabled) bluetooth, the blue light was still blinking. I went into Missed Call, removed the bluetooth trigger, and had to reboot the phone to make it go away.

Problem is - now, even with NO bluetooth options in Missed Call, that little blue light comes on when I use bluetooth, and it doesn't go away until I reboot. Seems like one of the settings is stuck on, perhaps? I've even tried clearing cache for the app, and uninstalling it. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for writing this application and making it available! I'm new to Android after spending the last fourteen years with Palms and the lack of repeating alerts was causing me a lot of trouble. Missed Call works beautifully.

I do have the inevitable feature requests... :)

Could you add repeating alert support for voicemail and calendar events?

Would it be possible to build a more general function that could add repeating alerts to *any* notification? That would let me add the feature to utilities like Astrid where it would also be very useful.

Thanks again for all of the work you put into this!

That's an odd problem to have with the Bluetooth. I actually had it set to do light blue when BT is ON and regular blue when a device is connected, never had any problems. The fact that you un-installed the program and it still does that is odd. Why don't you try re-installing, adding bluetooth as a service, change the color to something like Red (if you go to Select LED Color and tap Red, it will start blinking red, then it OK).

That's all I can think to do! You can also power down and do a battery pull.

Been reading through the thread. Maybe I just missed it, but it seems like a lot of people have asked about notifications and I can't seem to find your response. Is it impossible to make Missed Call notifications optional? I'd love to use this app and rate 5 stars. My slight OCD is preventing me from using it because I prefer the stock notifications though. However, the LED customization is exactly what I'm looking for. Would love to help you with any bug testing if this option would be possible. I understand the donation problem you have in Germany but would love to see you continue as a developer. Keep up the good work.

Edit: Never mind. Figured out all my notification settings and I'm loving it.

Let me start off by saying I love the app so far, and thank you! This is part of what I had on my WM v6.1 phone with SPB Phone Suite. Some requests for features I have are along the lines of what the previously mentioned app is capable of. The main thing I'm looking for are widgets that can toggle all volume settings to preset levels. We already have widgets that allow for vibrate or total mute but what if we want widgets that mute notifications but only lower the ring volume to say 20%. SPB Phone suite allowed for this on windows mobile with what they called profiles. These profiles were user editable. This program also had what android users would call a widget that would be displayed on the today screen that would show the number of missed calls/txts/mms/email/voicemail. Clicking on any of the icons would take you to the expected application.

If these things are not the road you had planned for your app I understand. You are the creator and I thank you for your contribution to the community.

Nuc.

Bug

Okay we have two Motorola Droid A855s and both mine and my wife's has the same behavior with this app. It works great if all notifications in the phone have been cleared but once notifications start stacking up the LED fails to change color, clear the notifications list and the application starts working again. Am I missing something or is this a bug?

You know, I think I experienced the same thing the other day. I had 2 astrid alerts and an email and then I received a new alert. I looked at the phone because I wasn't sure if it was a txt or not, so I looked at the LED and it was flashing green, so I thought it was another email and ignored it. Later, it turns out it was actually a text message. My txt messages are supposed to turn the LED purple.

I haven't had the phone that long, and have only just started using MissedCall to change the LED color, so I wasn't sure if that was normal behavior or not. When different alerts happen, I assume the LED should flash the color of the most recent alert, but I don't really know.

I'm going to pay attention in the future. The dev was on this thread for a while, but he seems to not be posting any more. In any event, I have emailed him twice with questions and he has been very responsive, so if this is indeed a bug, I suggest emailing him to report it.

The developer started this thread which is why I posted here. It's only been a few days since his last post so I'll give him time to respond before I go emailing him. I'm sure he is buried in questions from downloaders.

Cool ap, I just need it to work all the time. I'm more than happy to pay for it if he gets to the point of charging for it.

It does not appear that you have received a response to some of the colors for the Droid... what I've determined using the LED Tester, white should be 1 Red, 255 Green, and 1 Blue...
"Light Red" (Which in reality, already has it's own name, "Pink") should be 255 Red, 100 Green, and 100 Blue... Honestly, I would suggest removing "Light Red" from the Droid/Android 2.0 version altogether... other than that, everything else, as far as color, is fine

And I would also like to add (to the other comments) that I would appreciate the option to disable all notifications through Missed Call... I prefer my Gmail and default Messaging notifications on the Droid, simply because they go more in-depth than the ones offered by Missed Call...

Differences between SMS and Voicemails is another thing that needs to happen, I understand that not having an Android 2.0 compatible unit makes this difficult, however, this is the only other thing that is keeping me from using the program... If these qualifications were met, I would gladly attach a price tag to the app...

Thanks for your interaction with your consumers and we look forward to using a great product...

So I got my Nexus One and will start updating the app in the next weeks. I got some questions about the current beta.

- Do colored LED notifications still work on Android 2.0.1?
- What are your specific errors with the bluetooth service?

I'd also like to mention that when you like to use the SMS service you have to disable the default messaging notifications. If you like notifications that go very deep for messaging only just use Handcent at the moment which is quite nice. (or SMSPopup)

Issue list on the N1:
- LED trackball color can not be controled (SDK way) but this will be fixed by Google in an OTA update

I am glad you can work on the updates. I agree with the poster who said the light red is really pink on the Droid. I also don't find the yellow to be a true yellow.

The one thing I really would like to see and I mentioned this before is that being able to have missed call vibrate when the phone is put on vibrate. Right now since I have my default messaging off I don't get any notification other than the blinking led for messages.

It would also be great if you can have it detect mms and email.

Thanks for all your work, it really is a great app just needs some tweaking.
