More Froyo

I just had installe the other release, and now this.

SPR, just did a restore, back toa droid eye, but no "Droid" sound, any corrective action?

I cleared data and cache for market and reopened, had the maps issue on first boot, reloading the market after doing this FIXED it, shows as installed.

Since I dont really have any paid aps, resynching isnt much of an issue.

Much faster ... I think I'm loving this, even being rooted. :)

I think I probably asked this plenty, however how can I tell that this one, rooted as it is wil still get the OTA? Something about checking for a cert, etc. If someone can point me that way. I know if I take that OTA I'll lose root, I suppose between now and then I'll have to play and decide ...

I went ahead and updated to this release. I used Clockwork. I rebooted into recovery, wiped cache and factory reset 3 times i know i probably didnt have to but its a habit, applied the nandroid restore, installed the oc'd kernel that i still had on my sd card from the previous install and applied the market fix just in case. Booted up and done Syncing now.

So far my paid apps have shown up. Thanks everyone also MAPS show up as installed so thats been fixed.

Ok after reading though this hole thread I'm confused. For the sp recovery for this do I just download it and rename it update.zip and install it?

No. For SPR, you extract the folder froyo-blah blah blah and place into the nandroid ofolder on your SD card, boot to spr and do advanced nandroid restore, select backup, select the new folder, then perform restore.

If already on 2.2 you dont have to data wipe / factory reset.

I just did this.

Google Voice notifications are in real time, again - various LED flashlights all work again.

Maps still won't update from the market. I assume it's because Maps.apk installed itself in /system/app. I suspect ROMs will fix that.

Well this is nice and all, but I'm going back to bugless beast until somebody comes up with a flashlight app that works on froyo. It's a very small thing, but not having it really sucks. I use it several times a day now.

I hope you see this. Sun Lite works on 2.2.
