More Froyo

I installed this and it is running great. Unfortunately, everytime I try to install Team Chaos' Clean Black theme as an update.zip it is coming up with installation unsuccessful or something to that effect, not really being specific about what the error is.

I installed the first 2.2 update that was released and had the theme on that installation without a problem. Any suggestions?

OK. Appologies to the advanced user...

I'm not seeing "nandriod" anywhere on my card in Astro. Where do you download CW or SPrecovery to? The phone or your computer? I am a total idiot when it comes to this stuff and it's not real intuitive to the idiot.

There are a hundred step by step instructions in these pages but they all assume that the technologically adept is reading them. Could someone point me to a set of instructions made up for the "english as a second language" group?

Didnt see this posted anywhere but my about screen still says FRFxx and 33333 test-keys for the build number, not FRF57 and 38829. I used the CM link, anyone else noticing this?

lol, thats what i was trying to get them to understand, i compared the fix to the leak 2 and see where you fixed it. good job on catching it, i remember when 2.1 was released we had same issue

thats the first thing that popped in my head, when things were missing!

Everything I try is stuck at "Starting Download" Ive restarted, reapplied your fix etc. I cant get anything to download and install.

install process went as follows.

(via clockwork)
backup
wipe data twice
wipe cache
install new froyo nandroid
installed over clock kernel
install your clean black theme 1.2
install your market fix
Reboot
sync account
go to market and nothing is downloading like it did on the first build.
try to manually download and nothing.

From what I understand 33333 is the build that was released here last night... droid-life has a FRF57 38829 build out this morning. I'm not sure what the differences are, or if one is newer than the other. Been trying to figure that out myself...

Google listen still broken.

Gives error:
Listen requires gmail account to sync with reader.google.com. please add a new account in system preferences

Listen is running fine for me. Haveyou tried signing into Google Reader with the account you have set up on your phone to see if it just needs to sync?

Reader is not even listed under my gmail account sync. I only have contacts, gmail, picasa, and calendar shown

chrome-to-phone works now, speed increases, probably stability. Scrolling thru Settings and using root explorer, it scrolls batter.

Dangit, Verizon is upgrading their servers now.

Ok,so upgrades dont just happen Sat, Sun overnite...Sems like they can happen anytime overnight.

Well this is nice and all, but I'm going back to bugless beast until somebody comes up with a flashlight app that works on froyo. It's a very small thing, but not having it really sucks. I use it several times a day now.

I hope you see this. Sun Lite works on 2.2.

MotoTorch works too.

Does anyone know if app2sd was added to this or the updated Froyo 2.2?

I have asked this a few times in different forums but no one has directed me as to where to go to check that option.
I Cryo, UD you had to go into applications and check the option.

Does anyone know where I need to go to activate it, or did they not add it to this release?

Also did anyone else have problems with the launcher draw?
When I tap on the box of dots (bottom middle) and the house appears at times (many times) the app's don't appear. I have to restart the launcher.

Its up to the app dev to have that option put in the app. Its in Settings/Applications/manage Applications

Strange I cant boot into neither clockwork or sprecovery

Power off,
Power on,
Hold x key an it doesn't boot into any recovery.

Stays at the M and everything was ok until I tried to boot in for the kernel update.

If I power off and then on holding nothing I can bootup and the device turns on ok.
Any ideas?

OK I went into ROM Manager and switched to SPRecovery and it didn't allow me to the sprecovery menu.
Just sits at the M.

Did Froyo update break this option or did something else change?X is still the letter to hold?

U might need to re-flash SP Recovery a few times in Rom Manager. Then try it again.

Does anyone know if this build is newer or older than the "new" build that was released on droid-life this morning? It looks like that one has a build of voles-userdebug 2.2 FRF57 38829 test-keys. The one I downloaded from here last night is FRFXX 33333... Anyone know?

Try to install it without the theme... I've seen several post that have market issues even after doing the market fix and all the posters have one thing in common. You all installed the theme.

I did not intstall the theme but did everything same as you except the theme. And I've not a single issue yet.
