Motorola Droid Bionic Joins the Droid Family!

2nd post is what i mean...damn no editing feature haha

I hear ya. I can only speak from the experience I have with the company I work for and when we deliver new products, the fiscal calendar is referenced, despite the communication not having anything to do with fiscal performance.....as it is used as a general operating calendar.

I guess this means that we won't see Bionic until Apr-Jun then.... :icon_evil:

I'm going to say 4/5/11 will be the release day. Lord willing, don't quote me.

It's a Tuesday...typical Droid release day..

The sooner the better!! I'm going nuts for the phone already...haha

I think we may have a winner : )

Would be my best guestimate as well. They are not going to draw the release out on this device. This will be a huge seller no doubt

Droid X users who waisted your upgrades, be very jealous, lol.

Some of us did it the smart way and added a line to save our upgrade. :p

^^^^^^^^:):):):):):):):):):) Best thing i've ever done was add a line with a one year contract (technically can cancel in 10 months) and save a couple hundred bucks on the phone and pay the 12.97 cents a month over 10 months = 129.70 (plus discounted price of the phone itself) so u pay some of it overtime but still end up saving hundreds off of buying it up front. :):):):)

I've always wondered about this. What does a person do with two smart phones? Do you carry them both all the time?

The add a line is just for the discounted price, they imediately put the new phone on the line you actually use and use a dummy ESN for the add a line which you will not use.

And some others of us did it a smarter way and paid an extra $70 for a 1-year contract instead of two that ends in July 2011 (TONS cheaper than an extra line).

PLUS I get a double-bonus because my wife did too but doesn't want to upgrade her phone, so beginning July 2011 I get 2 contracts with upgrades available! I'm planning on upgrading one of our phones in July and then the other whenever the next "ooh shiney" comes out and on average, I'll get two new shiney phones each year which means I can probably sell the previous one for a good chunk of change to offset the reoccurring $270 charges everytime I upgrade. ;-)

I don't like to assume but i will in this case, i'll assume you are talking about an early 1 year upgrade which would entail signing a one year contract, What i am talking about is for those of us who haven't even reached the one year mark yet like myself.

My Company books run on a calendar year, so January 1, 2011 we started our new year and closed the books on 2010. Moving ahead into 2011 we will have four quarters: Q1- January 1 through March 31; Q2- April 1 through June 30; Q3- July 1 through September 30, and Q4- OIctober 1 through December 31, 2011. Fiscal pertains to finances in general rather than a specific period of time.

Example: Assuming both Verizon and Motorola begin their accounting year on January 1, and assuming they both recogonize the need for a physical keyboard and actually get one on the Bionic, They both will have a blazing Q1, 2011

No. Fiscal year refers to a company's budget year. It's still one year (12 months) but it's not necessarily a calendar year (Jan-Dec). It can be Oct-Sept, Nov-Oct, Dec-Nov. or any other 12 month period including Jan-Dec.

A quarter is just any 3 month period. A fiscal quarter would be a 3 month period in a company's fiscal year.

Not every company has the same fiscal year.

DING DING DING - we've found someone who understands accounting principles!!!!!!!!

Well since its not running a comp their is no need for it but that accessory is nice I wish VZW would get it

Yeah, I don't know what all the whining is about. The Bionic is a great phone. I personally have no use for that "here let's make it a netbook" accessory, and yes since there is only one OS running instead of two the 512MB vs 1GB debate isn't a big difference. I'd kind of prefer the 4.0 screen size, but i am getting quite jealous of friends with 4.3" screens so I think I am now leaning toward one.
