I have been reading that it is 1G because of the whole P.C thing. It uses 512 for the Phone and 512 for the P.C. So you are actually getting the Same phone.. I was thinking the way you guys was thinking. But after doing some research I am going with the Bionic. It is Basically the same phone except for the P.C part and the Bionic has a bigger screen.. Plus Verizon is better where I am. At&t stinks where I am...

512MB of RAM while AT&T gets the better phone? And the Droid line of phones brought Moto out of the brink of obscurity.Hopefully htc/LG will step it up.

exactly!!

what more, at&t rural and urban coverage isnt that great, Verizon cover most of rural area.

I just dont understand why people pissing and moaning over that crap

If the bootloader is unlocked, which is unlikely, then yes you could for sure. If it is locked, then hopefully someone will find a workaround to a recovery option like on the droid x and we will most likely see devs working on ROM's that remove some or all of the BLUR.

It docks to run as a P.C. That is why it needs to be 1G of RAM.. If it did not have that it would be 512mb also.

The phone has Blur. Not sure about the bootloader. I might actually have to pick this up, Verizon sure didn't give us very many high end devices to choose from.

But one can or cannot get rid of Blur?

You can get rid of some of it by switching to a different launcher.

Switching to a different launcher does not get rid of any BLUR, it simply allows you to not see the BLUR, it will still be running.

Is this the same RAM that's in the Droid X and D2? Every article I read refers to the Bionic as having "desktop grade" RAM. For example:

I guess I'm more concerned about the speed of the memory than just the quantity. Seems like this just might do the job....for now.

Early rumors had it that this would be a global phone. Guess that didn't happen....

It's an LTE phone, of course it's Global. LTE is the Global standard for the next generation of phones.

I do not think it is a blow. If Verizon get the Iphone there will be a Great exodus from AT&T because there sevice is garbage in most of the U.S. except for certain areas. What is the use of have a Great phone on such bad service. Just ask an iphone user. If Verizon gets Iphone there will be a lot of people jumping ship over to Verizon... I would rather have a Great phone The Bionic which is basically the same phone bigger screen on a Great Service and right now that is Verizon.. Also by the way They need the Atrix to keep them afloat if Verizon gets the Iphone...

Knowing the Ram thing, its not that bad having the 512, but the web docking thing is another story.

I wouldnt consider it a huge blow, just because everywhere else they match up almost as twins, but it is something that will sway ppl easy.

I really do not understand why so many people seem disappointed in this phone, it's by far the best device on the market or in the near term pipeline.

OK, you are right, it doesn't have a "docking station", but honestly have you looked at that dock? The way the Atrix sits in it, it just looks like it's destined to break at some point if you carry it around like you would any other netbook.

Aside from lacking a netbook like dock, everything else on this phone is the best around.

DDR2 RAM - yes PC class RAM, much faster RAM than anything before it

qHD - quarter high def = 960x540 resolution

HDMI out with mirroring. now you can watch whatever is on your Droid on any HDMI capable HD TV. Not just applications which are built to take advantage of HDMI out in a phone, but ALL applications

Tegra 2 - Last week everyone was so excited to see the first dual cores come out, here one is and people are still complaining

Global - It's an LTE phone, it IS global, there is no need to put Global in the name

Front facing camera

16GB internal storage plus a Micro SD card for another 32GB

Honestly to those complaining that this isn't what they expected or isn't good enough, the leap and bounds better than the X that this phone is, in such a short period of time is nothing short of wonderful. I have no idea what you were hoping for, but I see nothing to complain about with the Bionic.

I will wait for more information on the bootloader before I decide how much I really like this phone, but its definately a cantidate for my next phone as of now.
