Motorola Droid Bionic Joins the Droid Family!

So the Bionic has ddr2 but the Atrix doesn't? Interesting...

But in an event, like others have said. I'm going with the Bionic I think. LG Revolution has bing and the Thunderbolt doesn't have a dual core. Besides the Atrix is on AT&T. 'Nuff said.

The Revolution has Bing, that's a big bummer. I was tied between the Bionic and the Revolution up to now.

Yup I heard that here on the forums then I saw a picture of the Revolution myself with Bing on the screen. I was looking forward to it too until I saw that.

Im almost certain the bionic will have a 1600mAh battery NOT 1900 or whatever

So, both Motorola's developers webpage, and the factsheet say 1930 mah, but you are "almost certain" that they are wrong? Lol. Where did you get your info from?

I would use the fact sheet...or the web page,,,,,,,,,1930 is what it says.... Until VZW posts it on thier website that what it has

The 512mb isnt bad, when not to long ago our personal computers were just 512 mb and the phone is ddr which is almost like having 1gb but if its not, im still grabbing this bad boy what a awesome phone at least it seems, and look at it like this guys the atrix has 1gig but no where to use it (bad service provider) dancedroid

Hmm the site innitially said 1600 AND that's what they said at CES AND that's what most all of the android review sites that went to CES say. But if they changed it that's great hehehe

Ugh! This permission to edit my posts being denied is annoying! It seems like more sites are saying 1930 now, but all the CES footage they say 1600. Some people seem to think it has 1gig of ram too (which we almost know is the atrix), I hope Motorola hurries up and adds the full spec sheets to their site to clear everything up.... but in the mean time, I'll be sitting here hoping the people at CES were wrong or they changed their minds and it IS 1930 :D

Faster, but 512 is still 512. Faster is great until memory CAPACITY becomes an issue, and almost out of the box 512 is capacity constrained - the Thunderbolt ruu weighs in at 500megs (it has 768 ram).

Faster or not, when ram gets bloated it slows down. Obviously Linux/Android doesn't quite work like that, but what happens is as apps demand more memory and you start adding widgets and other programs that need to run in the background, then Android starts killing stuff to free-up ram. That hurts the user experience, particularly when Android starts killing widgets and home launchers (redraw).

compcache has reduced my redraws significantly, but my D1 often lags, freezes or acts a bit buggy. I probably need another 64-128 to run smoothly. Now, think about 512 - the mfrs are all putting their own UI which takes up ram, and gingerbread is going to be beefier...Like I said, for powerusers 512 is inadequate almost out of the box.

Motorola probably thought of that when they were designing the phone. So until it's out in the wild, we won't know how it will truly perform.
