Motorola Droid Bionic Joins the Droid Family!

So the Bionic has ddr2 but the Atrix doesn't? Interesting...

But in an event, like others have said. I'm going with the Bionic I think. LG Revolution has bing and the Thunderbolt doesn't have a dual core. Besides the Atrix is on AT&T. 'Nuff said.

The Revolution has Bing, that's a big bummer. I was tied between the Bionic and the Revolution up to now.

Yup I heard that here on the forums then I saw a picture of the Revolution myself with Bing on the screen. I was looking forward to it too until I saw that.

And evidently the Revolution isn't dual core, either!

Motorola probably thought of that when they were designing the phone. So until it's out in the wild, we won't know how it will truly perform.

Yeah, I suspect what they were thinking was "planned obsolescence". In 6 months users will be crying about not having enough ram just like the D1 users were.

I can't wait to see pricing. I may be mistaken, but off the top of my head it seems like each VZW phone skimped on a feature or two - one isn't LTE, one has lower screen res, one or two aren't dual core, one has less ram...

Whether they retail at the same price is one question, but I'll also be curious to see the VZW contract price for each. Was everyone afraid a loaded device couldn't sell priced at $100 more for the latest tech?

Hmm the site innitially said 1600 AND that's what they said at CES AND that's what most all of the android review sites that went to CES say. But if they changed it that's great hehehe

I expect some of the costs are going up for and LTE device and LTe service........ like instead of $199 maybe $299 and a 2 year deal

What makes you think gingerbread is going to be more beefy? Maybe it'll run more efficiently WHILE having more features (much like how some of the dual cores coming out are going to be) remember: they've said there are no min. specs for gingerbread (or was that just honeycomb?) either way the point being advancements in an os (new features etc.) doesn't JUST mean new stuff, it can also mean faster performance on less hardware (see chrome for example)

Well I'm currently running GB and I know the rom seems to take up more space than Froyo does so it's probably beefier.

This may be a bit random, but seeing how these are the latest and greatest devices, how come the phones hardware only supports microusb 2.0? Why not microusb 3.0? I though 3.0 could charge devices quicker and stuff... Is that that not popular enough yet?

The size of the OS has nothing to do with how efficiently it will run.

True. However, although it may run more efficiently, it doesn't mean that there isn't more stuff to run. That's just the way that I think about it anyway. Look at Windows, it gets more efficient with new releases but it also needs more ram because there are more features. I know Android and Windows are totally different, but I think the concept is the same.

I haven't heard about it charging quicker but I do know that speeds are much quicker. It's probably because it will be a while before usb 3.0 is the standard.

I would have never thought a phone would have a dual-core processor. I know only a few popped their heads out, but wow. My laptop feels so dated.

I know that its just a guess but I hope your wrong about the new 2 year prices, Miami.

My best guess is one: to agree and say that its not really a standard yet but two and more importantly: its still a new technology and is new coming out in PCs so I'm sure its a lot more expensive and they want these devices to be as close to the cheap/awesome barrier as possible, so probably leave that out for now. I don't think you'll see usb3 until next year (if not later) I might even expect to see blutooth 3.0 first :O
