Motorola Droid Bionic Joins the Droid Family!

Everything the Atrix has, I want in my next phone. I'm just not that impressed with 2.7gb of internal user storage and 512mb of DDR2 ram. Yes the dual core and LTE radio is great, but I can't help but believe that Moto is planning something special for VZW consumers during the Xmas holidays. Something probably even better on paper than the Atrix from every angle.

Post #346 is referring to the Droid Bionic falling short by my standards. For the Bionic and Atrix to not be completely identical, At&t must have brought more to the table than VZW did to get a better product. Of course when a company is in At&t position regarding the vphone, then I guess they have to come up with something big.

I don't think at&t has a better product....so what, a half gig of ram sits dead until plugged in to a dummy screen.....meh.....

Would be a nice phone if not locked down the way it probably will be. The problem is all the OEMs want to be apple. They see the $ signs and they want the phone to be their way and no way else, they want the control and opportunities a locked down phone affords them and as long as we buy them it will not change.

No where has it been said by moto that half the ram only works with the dock SW and half with android that is just speculation here. IMO more likely there will be 1gb of shared ram and the dock OS will just sit in the background using whatever ram it does while in phone mode.

I will let you digress....when you are ready...I will hit you with it, ha.

I would prefer the size of the atrix over the size of the bionic, but otherwise, I wouldn't say it's the better phone. The atrix has more RAM, but the bionic uses more efficient RAM

I highly doubt that 4G for vzw will be unlimited and if it is it'll prolly be as expensive as a normal talk plan..ima stay rockin my DX till dual core fones get all the kinks worked out..

It's still a separate OS that will take up ram whether you are running it or not. And likely it is a partition and not shared.

More efficient RAM? They both use the same DDR2 RAM, just one is 1 GB, while the other is 512 MB.

Bionic has DDR2 PC-quality RAM. The Atrix does not.

That is a great point, I thought the atrix was also using DDR2 ram, but nope every source I read up on keeps saying just RAM versus DDR2 ram.

I've seen some sources like phone arena that specifically states that the Droid Bionic uses DDR2, but I don't see that for the Atrix.
