Motorola Droid Bionic Release Date?

I'm in the boat of wanting the bionic, but might have to settle for tbolt if the bionic isn't released before my NE2 expires. (which is 6 months after it activates, right?)

NE2 does not expire.
New Every Two expiration? - Verizon Wireless Community

But anyways, the longer that the HTC TB is delayed, the better it bodes for Motorola... The quicker they can get the Bionic out, I think they'll cash in on a lot of prospective TB sales as well.

ah, ok....but I notice that its only a discount of like $50? lol

Oh well. rooting my d1 has me quite satisfied for now. guess I'll wait for bionic or d3.

I wish I could do the same, but my LG Dare is finally beginning to fall apart.
Damn shame, this phone has done me 2 1/2 years in full.

^--- In response to that, I said it in the other thread, but does anyone else thing that Moto might try pushing the Bionic out as fast as it can (fully functional obviously) in order to get snag sales out of the HTC Thunderbolt? People (including myself) looking at the Thunderbolt are getting pretty frustrated it's getting pushed back so much, and I think Moto could realize this possibility to get a lot more sales.
If they do this, we could see Bionic with its April predictions, but this is pure speculation and one can only hope.

Speaking of which...the Best Buy Mobile rep told me tonight when I was in looking at the Xoom that they were told expect the Bionic before the end of March.

Yeah take that with a grain of salt but that's what he says they were told so whatever.

bye bye BB Storm

I've been using a hand-me-down BB storm, which does nothing but make me want to punch a kitten.

LOL! I know exactly what you mean. Until a few hours ago I was using a Storm.

My boss just got a DX today and gave me his D1. Now I can wait patiently for the Bionic to come out and give it some time to make sure all goes well with the first batch!

What a difference! At first the Storm was cool, then I quickly progressed to the "kitten punching" stage. Now my internet is FAST. I won't have to deal with a battery pull 1-2x per day, I can hold the phone on either side of my head without having my chin block the microphone……...

I have a Zune HD (ha ha- I know, but you ipod people don't get unlimited rentals plus 10 songs to keep a month like my ZunePass). Anyway, the Tegra first gen in the device is amazeing. I am so looking forward to Tegra 2. Did you see NVIDIA's demo @ CES where they played some high end MMORPG On a PC, then the Ps3, then shifted it over to LG's Optimus 2? Ridiculously powerful.
So my dread (I read it somewhere) Is that the dual core processor mentioned is not Tegra, but a Moto proc. Motorola has made electronics since before Super Mario was super. They still do. The reasoning is if it was Tegra 2, then it would be mentioned by name. Brand recognition and all. I might even be convinced to go LG if it was the only Tegra 2 around. Maybe. But Moto would be soooo much better.
Motorola, to me, has a solid history of mobile electronics, comm devices, you know- they have spec sheets on all their equipment on their main site. That's rare for current manufacturer's. Its kind of cool they have the Moto Bionic page up, but for now there is no data in it. What a tease. Support is awesome- do you see an equivilent forum for any one else's gear? I hope the coolness of this site isn't lost on newbie's- we have real VZ & Moto employees allowed to moderate. There are threads for modding, customeizing, ect. No sycophantish stuff. Just enthusiasts and our expensive toys. Way cool people, thank you.

So my longwinded self has to ask: Does anyone have any credible info on the hardware? Particularly the proc? I'm already a little dissapointed there is the same 1/2 Gb RAM my Droid X already sports...

If Motorola had a kickass SOC, we'd have heard about it by now. I'm pretty sure I've heard the Tegra 2 mentioned by name in several places for the Bionic regardless.

I went to Verizon the other day and the rep there told me the Bionic will probably come out in June

I walked into VZ last week killing time and found out I can early upgrade but the lady told me I should really wait because the DX (the one I have been looking at for when my NE2 is officially up in June) and Dinc are both hitting EOL in the next month or so with the Bionic on its way so would be wasting my money. Soooooo since I have been waiting this long with my POS Storm 2, I can wait just a little longer for DB to release. I just hope its April like some are saying, I am really sick and tired of this Blackberry and luckily its only $20 for early upgrade. Been doing my homework and looking forward to jumping ship to the Android OS. Don't get me wrong I will miss one or two things about my BB but it's not enough to keep me. Here is to hoping it releases soon. In the mean time I will keep my eyes and ears open on the upcoming Android Releases. Yeah the DB is #1 in my crosshairs but who knows in the next few months what will present itself.

Oh yeah, First post. Found these forums actually trying to track down a release date and do more research.

Sanjaye (Moto CEO) already said DB will be out at end of Q2. That means around June.

Especially with the debacle over the TBolt right now (set to be released in Q1 and everyone was assuming mid/late Feb and it seems like it will now be around mid March (give or take a few days)), I would expect the DB to be released mid-late June at best or even early July if delays are expected (ie like the TBolt with its supposed battery life causing a delay)

NE2 does not expire.
New Every Two expiration? - Verizon Wireless Community

That thread is from April of 2010. The NE2 program is expiring, meaning it will not be available to people signing any new two year contracts. People who are currently in the NE2 program can redeem their credit within 6 months of expiration.

Answers to FAQs

New lines of service will no longer be enrolled in the New Every Two program. If you are currently enrolled, you may redeem your New Every Two benefit one more time for up to six months after fulfilling 20 months of your two-year term.
