Motorola Droid Case Reviews

did you guys see the oem sleeve that comes with the nexus one? it has the android logo...wonder if the droid will fit?

Hard to know for sure if the Google Nexus One cases will fit, needs a formal announce/ship first, but seems somewhat unlikely given the leaked dimensions:

Dimensions: 119 x 59.8 x 11.5 mm

Droid: 116.8 x 61 x 13.7 mm

So on length you'd be fine, but on width and depth, maybe a bit on the tight side. Maybe if it was a soft slip case, and loose enough.

Has anyone tried out this one? I'm looking for a slim sleeve that holds the phone snug and won't slide out on its own.

No, haven't seen/tried the Verizon case:

Kind of looks like the Droid hangs out the top, but you can never tell.

The Sena slip case I had on order finally showed up yesterday, it's a slim sleeve, seems very nicely made, and is certainly snug, so that might be something for you to have a look at. I'll post some more details when I get the time and experience with the case, but there are ample references here already.

Here's a link:

Sena Cases - Designer Leather Cases : BlackBerry case, iPhone case, Treo case, iPod touch case, and other PDA cases

The Droid fits fully into the sleeve, only the top is exposed. It's not very thick, not much in the way of extra padding or protection, but the leather is nice and gives you scratch and at least a little protection. It's snug enough that it was pulling the back door of the Droid out of place a bit, but I worked on it to loosen the leather up, and that's not a problem now. You push on the bottom of the Sena case to get the Droid out. It seems like a number of cases have the top of the phone exposed, ala the Verizon, just cannot figure out why that is being done that way, but the Sena pretty much fully covers everything but the top (5 out of 6 surfaces).

I think many of the sleeve type cases leave the top exposed in one way or another to improve grip when removing the phone from the sleeve when snug.
You of course mention the alternative of squeezing it out like tooth-paste, but I believe the Sena, with the cutouts on the top sides and the Verizon imaged a post or two before do this for easier removal.
Personally I am just using your described method with the Waterfield because it does extend a little past the top.

Cheers,

Still haven't settled on a case that totally works for me. Been looking for a horizontal pouch case with a secure clip. I initially used a cheapo case I had as a backup for my Voyager, then last week I got a Moto horizontal pouch case. The Moto case is larger than it needs to be and the clip is not really secure, it can easily be pushed up off my belt.

The side pouch that was recommended to me earlier seems to have the same plastic (not too secure) Moto belt clip, so that may not work.

So far, the cheapo Voyager case seems to be the winner for secure attachment to a belt and for being conservative in size. But my old one is worn, so frankly I've been considering just buying another el cheapo Voyager case.

Still on the hunt...

I'm giving up on the Body Glove case. It's bulky, hard to type on the physical keyboard with it on, the phone has fallen a few times from coming unattached from the belt clip, and now the whole thing is loose from removing it daily to putting in the dock at night. The screen part of the case is constantly falling off.

Guess I'll go back to the crappy leather pouch. :(

Another disappointed Body Glove user here. After 2 months use, the screen side wont stay on. Every time I slide the keyboard out, the screen side pops off. It's pretty bulky for pockets. Not a deal breaker, but it could be refined. And the back needs 2 prybars and an airhammer to pry it loose.

On the positive, the BG case takes drops to frozen pavement without issue, and it's nice and grippy. The handset stays where u put it, even on leather seats.

Garbage. Does not fit my droid ---- waste of $6, November 13, 2009
By Rad
I was hoping for a decent, no frills sleeve for my Motorola Droid. I have something similar for my ipod touch, and I have liked how it adds almost no extra bulk, while giving sufficient protection. I was hoping for the same for my Droid. Unfortunately, this case is way, way too tight, and requires pressure to slide it in. And even with maximum pressure, part of the Droid sticks out. Not only is it hard to get in and out of the pouch, I am also worried it might damage the side buttons. So I decided to throw it in the trash, and I'm now out $6 (counting the shipping fee). Then I decided to try it on an iPod touch, and it fits decently, so now I have an extra case, though it's slightly loose on the iPod. Anyway, if you are looking for a good sleeve for the Droid, look elsewhere. This one is garbage.

I tried this for my Droid, but it just barely fits. You can JUST squeeze it in, but I can't imagine it would be good for the phone to stuff it in this thing all the time. Definitely not worth it for Droid owners.

This sleeve does not fit a Droid. It's so tight that you can't even get the phone to slide all the way down without considerable force. This company lied to its customers and I wouldn't recommend buying anything from them. Also, this sleeve is a piece of junk. It's not worth 99 cents, even if it DID fit. I wasted 6 bucks like the other guy who posted a review and there's nothing I can do about it except post this review.

EPIC FAIL.

Verizon case Review

Here is Verizon shell/holster combo. I had that velcro pouch for a couple of days but I took that back and got this ine. By far it is better than the Body-Glove case and it costs the same. Here the link.

just got my waterfield sleeve. pretty nice. came with a note about it being snug, and how to loosen it up, but personally, i wish it was a lil tighter to begin with. if i loosely hold on to just the bag, the phone can slide right out.
