How will 4g phones operate in areas that don't have 4G coverage initially?

Don't know. Maybe without an inserted SIM card, data will run off the CDMA radio. But as far as I know, that's how they are handling their data/voice.

I would have thought that if there was no 4G signal then the phone would switch back to the CDMA radio for 3G.

I believe that is correct.

Would anyone trade their Droid X for a Droid Incredible? I live in Richmond VA and if anyone wants to I will..... Want to have a larger phone in preparation for the Inc HD.

I have a sister who is a regional manager of inventory and a brother who is a district manager of sales reps at vzw. They have both been working for about 3 years and have never I mean never had info on phones before I have seen info on the web. On really popular devices they usually wouldn't even know till a week before. With that said I have seen lots of people explaining about grilling the vzw reps at their local store and I would have to say most likely they dont know what they are talking about. Again “most likely” you never know I guess but I just recommend that you take what they say with a grain of salt. If miami is talking to high ups(which I believe he is) then I would trust his info way more than some random rep. At least from my experience.

That’s exactly how I feel. They told him the 23rd and that its been on target. If anything has changed than Miami would have told us by now. Plain and simple. He also might want us to be surprised. This phone is going to be something big.

Well, No new is good news. haha. I just think a lot of us is waiting for him to say " still on target for the 23rd " even though he told us that a week ago! im sure its still on target or if things changed Miami would of told us by now.

I am starting to think the same thing.

But I want to wait until the end of today before I really start to think that. I have reason to believe that he is in possession of certain evidence/items/information that if he really wanted to keep hope alive he could. Now the evidence/items/information won't be telling on release date (most likely), but he can at least drop tidbits...

Now if he doesn't release anything today (or tomorrow) then I am going to assume that the NDA pretty much owns him until it expires.

We are only two weeks away from the 23rd so we will know soon. If nothing else, all of this speculation is killing time.

Well he emailed them about the two phones rumor. I'm just praying that its true and they are releasing the 3g version soon.

I'm pretty sure Black_Man_X has more information than Miami. He isn't gonna be told everything from his connections all the time. Besides, that guy seems to have confirmed 2 devices already. So I see no reason not to listen.

I fear that Miami (and all of us by extension) are at the mercy of the Verizon people. Last week - it was looking good for information to be released this past weekend...then today...and now I fear they may try and string him (and us) along for another few days/weeks.

For all those that think this should be LTE only...there are many many people out there that won't have regular access to LTE service and many more that aren't ready to pay for the LTE service. Launching this as a high end 3G device for the holidays makes very good business sense. I just hope that Verizon realizes that. Of course...the way they have handled the Bing issue makes me think that they don't fully understand all that goes into designing and marketing a google device. Not all of us want bing or a sliding key board.

I just wonder for all the people who only want 3G if they can Isolate the 4G? Is it the sim card thing or is it as simple a a stroke of the key board in your account? or once 4G is out you are stuck with it?

Does or did...doesn't really help us as long as Verizon is holding him to the NDA.

Until Verizon decides to provide him with the answers we are looking for and the permission to post pictures of said device that he had or has...we are SOL.
