If you wantto rent a phone until it comes out, how about getting the DInc.... Then when you get the DInc HD you won't be switching from Motoblur to Sense.......

By the way I am so excited about this phone I probably won't root it......at least for a little while :)
wow i like the way you think. i was so into the x the last few months that i didnt even think about getting myself comfortable with sense first... and this is why i wanted to post my plan ......so it can be improved

If i were you, i would wait till we know 100% that the DINC HD comes out this month, because if you dont give the pnone back to verizon before the 30 days than your stuck with the x. Or you pay the $35 re-stock fee and go back to the stone age phone. But hey the dx is still one hell of a phone if you decide to keep it!
I did think about that, plan includes just returning the phone at the end of the 30 days even if the incHD isn't out by then. I would wait but being completely phoneless causes me to have to adapt. I think Im gunna get the incredible tho instead of the x today just to ease into sense

the 8255 and 8655 are the same thing but 8655 has the cdma modem added in so it will work with Verizon i wouldn't expect to see this turn up with speeds at 1.2-1.5 i would be fine at 1.0 snapdragon processors are fast enough by themselves no need for the extra battery drain and with the possibility that this could come with a small battery i would rather have the reduced size but same speed with better battery management

I'm with you. Even for all that speed, if you can only use the phone for a couple of hours at a time, what's the point of getting it.

The newer processors use less power so you could get more for less...In fact the dual core processors are evn more so from what I understand.

What is frustrating, is that I finally have customized my DROID 1 to exactly how I want it. It is running so smooth. No random reboots, no redraws, overclocked, discovered a great ROM, etc.... i hope this phone is able at the get go... I hope rooting is made possible very soon after release.

So you are saying the new processor uses less batterylife?

I feel like a bit of a tool bag registering and making my first post in this thread like a lot of other people have done, but what the hell.

Anyway, I was part of AllTel and had some phone that I don't even remember, it was a piece of crap and they replaced it with a Razr, which was a piece of crap as well.

The first phone I got after the Verizon merger was the Samsung Delve. I was up for a new phone at the beginning of August, but the wifey and I went on vacation so new phones weren't a priority.

We started really shopping around in October and she REALLY wanted to get the Blackberry Torch, but that would mean leaving Verizon. I was pretty interested in the Captivate, so I talked her into playing around with some of the Android based phones, and she likes the Fascinate a lot. I was almost certain I wanted to get it, then I stumbled upon news of this phone and considering I REALLY wanted the Incredible when it released but wasn't up for renewal, I'm 99.99% certain this is the phone I want to get (pending final specs and playing around with it in-store).

I've had people suggest the iPhone for me, but the more I've read about Android phones, the more I want one.

I do feel a little intimidated by the Android phones and everything they can do, but I'm definitely excited about the prospect of owning one.

I am surprised how many people have Storms (1&2) that are moving to the Droid Incredible HD. Blackberry really dropped the ball with the Storm. I bet had RIM brought out something competitive this fall they might have retained more customers. As it stands now...the gap between the many many Storm1 &2 users that have contracts coming up this month and the release of the rumored S3 - will result in Droid picking up thousands of more customers.

Just a poll...how many people on here have a Blackberry Storm?

I have the Storm2 - but origionally purchased the Storm1 on release day 11/21/2008 and VZW gave me a Storm2 a couple of months ago after countless S1 replacements for defective hardware. Can't wait to cash in my NE2 this month on the DINC HD!!!

I still have the Storm 1. It is becoming ridiculous how many times a day I must pull the battery, or it suddenly shows the "processing" icon for 10-15 minutes, so I always have to just pull the battery. It has embarrassed me with clients a few times. I am uninspired by the Torch, to say the least.

is it sad that im excited to just to enter the droid world today with the original incredible (which will only increase my hype for incHD) bye bye blackberry

Hey STICK,

Welcome to the forum and the nice thing about Android is how much you can do or how little. Dont sweat it, I have converted two family members, now just working on the wife........that damn BB Messenger :(

After having the 2800mah Extended Battery on my Original D chances are, I will always purchase an extended battery -

Welcome

I know how you feel about being intimidated. I was too. But Android is pretty logical platform imo. And, stick with this forum and read up on particular topics and you will be ready to dive in once you get it. I am a huge apple/mac fan. But Droid won me over big time. Don't even care that the iphone is coming to verizon anymore.

That would be nice but I have a feeling this won't have a dual core processor.
