Correct me if I am wrong, but that is double (the power? amperage? whatever..) of the original battery.

the 8255 and 8655 are the same thing but 8655 has the cdma modem added in so it will work with Verizon i wouldn't expect to see this turn up with speeds at 1.2-1.5 i would be fine at 1.0 snapdragon processors are fast enough by themselves no need for the extra battery drain and with the possibility that this could come with a small battery i would rather have the reduced size but same speed with better battery management

I've been meaning to ask this. Since the camera lens on this phone appears to now be flush with the body, is there any chance a larger battery is inside this phone? I've never seen or used an extended battery, but I assume they're fatter. Or am I incorrect in that assumption?

Anyway, I was part of AllTel and had some phone that I don't even remember, it was a piece of crap and they replaced it with a Razr, which was a piece of crap as well.

The first phone I got after the Verizon merger was the Samsung Delve. I was up for a new phone at the beginning of August, but the wifey and I went on vacation so new phones weren't a priority.

We started really shopping around in October and she REALLY wanted to get the Blackberry Torch, but that would mean leaving Verizon. I was pretty interested in the Captivate, so I talked her into playing around with some of the Android based phones, and she likes the Fascinate a lot. I was almost certain I wanted to get it, then I stumbled upon news of this phone and considering I REALLY wanted the Incredible when it released but wasn't up for renewal, I'm 99.99% certain this is the phone I want to get (pending final specs and playing around with it in-store).

I've had people suggest the iPhone for me, but the more I've read about Android phones, the more I want one.

I do feel a little intimidated by the Android phones and everything they can do, but I'm definitely excited about the prospect of owning one.

best thing to do is walk in a verizon store and play with an android phone.. i suggest you give it a whirl, i was intimidated to last november 6th when i picked up my first android phone (moto droid) and now i have about 15 different people at work that come to me when they need help or have questions..

ive come a long way in just a year from knowing nothing.. it will just take some dedication that is not that hard to motivate for when these devices are so awesome...

i was not able to get off my phone for about a month after i got it... lol

I'm with you. Even for all that speed, if you can only use the phone for a couple of hours at a time, what's the point of getting it.

The newer processors use less power so you could get more for less...In fact the dual core processors are evn more so from what I understand.

That would be nice but I have a feeling this won't have a dual core processor.

will it have to be more than 1 ghz to be considered dual or are there single core that clock more than 1 ghz?

for instance is the droid global a dual because its 1.2ghz?

Why would you take a day off work? Just go pick it up at lunch. I know its a new phone but it is still a phone and your already using a phone with Froyo on it. It's not like your experiencing a whole new operating system.

Lol, what? A dual core chip implies that there are two physical cores on the die. Speed has nothing to do with it.
