Mysterious Device Now With November 23 Launch date

I feel like a bit of a tool bag registering and making my first post in this thread like a lot of other people have done, but what the hell.

Anyway, I was part of AllTel and had some phone that I don't even remember, it was a piece of crap and they replaced it with a Razr, which was a piece of crap as well.

The first phone I got after the Verizon merger was the Samsung Delve. I was up for a new phone at the beginning of August, but the wifey and I went on vacation so new phones weren't a priority.

We started really shopping around in October and she REALLY wanted to get the Blackberry Torch, but that would mean leaving Verizon. I was pretty interested in the Captivate, so I talked her into playing around with some of the Android based phones, and she likes the Fascinate a lot. I was almost certain I wanted to get it, then I stumbled upon news of this phone and considering I REALLY wanted the Incredible when it released but wasn't up for renewal, I'm 99.99% certain this is the phone I want to get (pending final specs and playing around with it in-store).

I've had people suggest the iPhone for me, but the more I've read about Android phones, the more I want one.

I do feel a little intimidated by the Android phones and everything they can do, but I'm definitely excited about the prospect of owning one.

best thing to do is walk in a verizon store and play with an android phone.. i suggest you give it a whirl, i was intimidated to last november 6th when i picked up my first android phone (moto droid) and now i have about 15 different people at work that come to me when they need help or have questions..

ive come a long way in just a year from knowing nothing.. it will just take some dedication that is not that hard to motivate for when these devices are so awesome...

i was not able to get off my phone for about a month after i got it... lol

Yeah I played with the Captivate/Fascinate at AT&T/Verizon and loved the phone. Once this one releases, I'll head back in and play with it as well and see how it feels.

No bueno. Shipping out another S2, wouldn't budge for anything else. Not even a different model BB. Awesome, thanks for that one Verizon. Tech on the phone even said" I know how this is I had a S1 and it was less than desirable. " :icon_evil:

There other solution was hey if you want to get out of this model phone you can always use your upgrade and buy another device.

this "mysterious" phone will merely be verizons version of the evo 4g...i dont understand how ppl are getting worked up over this phone acting like its the greatest thing ever...last time i checked it doesnt even exist...i know ppl from verizon and they dont know nuthin..smh

Trust me, we've got more than enough proof to know it exists.

Why don't you upgrade to something you want and sell the Storm 2 on ebay for a nice chunk of change?

WHAT!!! you know there is a clause wit that? if you have Problems with the Same Phone, 4x; their suppose to give you a free phone of YOUR choice of equal or lesser value. trust me. I've done it 2x.

They stopped doing that January this year. trust me, i know.

They dont' give a rats ass, apparently its the manufacturers way of doing things not their way of doing things. The tech was trying really hard to sell me different refurbished model. Was telling me all about how good the refurbs are and how they go threw a rigorous 100 point inspection and for only 250+ dollars I could get another phone and not extend my contract. WTF. :angry:

I said so your solution to this problem is to either send me an end of life device with known multiple problems or for me to spend 250+ dollars and buy another phone without extending my contract? I told him that's one hell of a business model he had going there.

Refurb S2 will hit either tomorrow or friday, most likely friday. Ugh..

I didnt know they stopped in Jan. that sucks though. and of course they what you to buy a new referb.Verizons a good company. but its seems since they knew this and being #1; they been doing a lot of bogus things and the customers are the one paying for it.

So yesterday this time, we had a conference call in the evening to look forward to. Now what is our next step? I personally am waiting for Nov 11th s Verizon can get the hype of all those phones out of the way (and to see what Samsung is announcing).

Hopefully we get new tidbits on the DINC HD before than.

I was waiting for a release date for the Dinc hd before getting my X but the upgrade day came and no word, so I went with the X. My 30 days is up Nov 15th but I can't see myself without my X. I've got it rooted, themed, and setup exactly how I want it. Plus I'd rather have the true 16:9 widescreen ratio the X has. I'm happy. I'll stick with what my signature says...lol
