Mysterious Device Now With November 23 Launch date

We all found out about this phone from BGR.com first. and im sure we will find out more from them before anyone else. i mean, it only makes sence. not being negetive or anything.

Don't be surprised to see BGR link to this website when it finally breaks cover. I strongly suspect that Miami's silence is to honor a NDA in exchange for exclusive first look at the phone. I think all the anticipation will be worth it when it finally breaks cover - hopefully next week!

Now its next week? Why does this keep getting bumped? If he signed a NDA, it should have a firm date on it.

Often times NDA's have requirements that you can't even disclose the date that the embargo is lifted...I had to come to grips with this last week...we all need to be patient. I'm sure he wants to release info as soon as possible.

No one gave a solid date on anything. You'll hear of the device more very soon. Give Miami is time and space. Its not a simple as coming out and posting a picture for everyone to see and then when it gets blown up, which it will, there will be some issues. Go take a look at some videos on the Desire HD if you're eager about this device.

i believe he signed it recently and dont remember a bump since the day he hinted at the NDA.. since then its always been this weekend..

Yes this goes back 2 weeks but then it was just his buddy saying dont release anything and then he eventually signed the NDA over the course of this week.

Not all NDAs have a specific date attached to them. All legal documents can be massaged to meet the needs of the parties involved.

I remember the question being asked, but I don't remember seeing the answer posted. For those of us wondering about Root access, it seems that the Desire HD has the same protections in place that the G2 has. Good news?: the one-click root provided by VISIONary worked to grant temp root to the Desire HD. Bad news?: It is only temp, and cust ROMS will be impossible. (at least at this time)

Yep, the date could be a moving target, i.e. an official press release. NDA ends after X,Y and Z events.

Possibly. If you look at the other tech blogs or auto blogs (I am a huge automotive industry fan) they all seem have product to review or information to release at the same time...in general. That is how these things work. People get first looks in exchange for silence...the difference is Miami seems to have gotten the first look before any NDA was signed...he seems to have leveraged that for our benefit and to try and get even more info out of VZW (a guess based on what he has said in these threads) If Miami came into some kind of information as he said he did back about a month ago...he might (a big guess here as I have not talked to him) have been able to use that info to get Droid Forum's elevated to the likes of the BGR group. Who knows...he might have had enough leverage to say..."hey I have these pictures and these specs and can dump them on my site which will make the rounds of the internet or I can hold back and you give me more information and some type of first look before the BGR/Engagets of the world get a peek"...or maybe just on the same day. Who knows...this is purely wild speculation.

You have to remember...Miami probably doesn't want to find himself in the situation that Gizmodo found themselves in...and have HTC or VZW pissed at him. Besides - Miami stated that he doesn't want to burn his contact and to keep his word - which is honorable and to be commended.

I still think that the information he had a month ago must have been big enough such that the VZW folks got interested enough to talk to him directly. I mean...none of us are having conversations with VZW reps about future product. So...hopefully this plays out well for Miami and for the rest of us while we sit and wait.

I just hope that whatever pictures Miami got a month ago were worth the wait. If they are just more of the same stuff BGR ran back in August I will be disapointed. But clearly they must not have been - or Miami wouldn't be talking directly to VZW. I believe he has the goods and is playing by their rules for our benefit.

So we just continue to wait....all of the above is a guess - I am a newbie here and don't have any inside information except that I have spent far too much time watching this thread waiting for news to drop.

Ouch, i knew that the g2 had a temp root but not the desire hd. Although, i do remember that it was T-Mobile that responded to the temp root issue and said it was their choice. So we will just have to see, but i was really hoping to be able to not have a temp root on my first android phone.

Miami is meeting with VZW this weekend (Possibly tonight) to settle some issues, he told us this. There will be a chat made if it is going to happen tonight, so keep an eye out.

I can only imagine how Miami is feeling. Knowing he has the ability to make this thread explode with excitement and knowing he is getting closer and closer to being able to do that.

All day in class I was constantly checking this forum. Too bad I don't realize calc 3 and linear algebra are more important and this thread can be checked anytime. Oh well
