You guys do realize that Google Navigation is in beta and not a final release version right? Complaining at this point is like complaining you have issues after taking a car from the factory before it's done being built. Yeah the car might start and drive, but your seatbelts and/or radio might not be installed. Wait till the app is in a release version before complaining about it's lack of features. Not saying they'll add what you're saying is missing but be patient and thankful Google was nice enough to release it in an unfinished state.
You realize that you don't buy a car from the factory until it's finished, right? Navigation was one of Verizon's top selling points for the Droid. Expecting it to be a finished product is pretty damn reasonable in my opinion. If it's beta, not advertised as such, you have every right to complain.

Anyway, making known what features you want is the only way to get them added.
What he said! Damn right! You finish the product before you sell it!

I have read alot of people that say they love the GPS on the Droid. I and many others are very frustrated because it lacks one feature that all GPS have in common except for the Droid's. The problem I am talking about is being able to save your current location or add waypoints. I also have a Garmin Nuvi but Droid doesn't come close to it if you can't save locations. This would be a real simple fix, simply touch your current location and have it bring up a screen asking if you would like to save your current location. From there all you would need to add is a folder to save your favorites in. Until then I have to rely on my Garmin.
I totally agree. They really need to add this. As well as a way to just have navigation running without having to tell it a destination.

If you go to google maps then menu -> my location it will keep you centered and is like having the navigation running without a destination

Only works in the MAPS but not in the navigation. I think thats what we were referring to

dannydoes...
have you removed and replaced your Beautiful Widgets widget(s) you have on your home screen? It was recommended by the developer to do this with the new updates yesterday.
Yea, it didn't work at all before I did that. Now it looks normal, but the little weather icon on the notifications bar was intermittently off. Also, it was telling me it was raining here when it isn't, then I deleted the widget and reinstalled, then the weather was accurate again. Weird.

No, that's not the same. When you are in navigation mode with a destination on the droid, the map will go to a 3D perspective mode, and continually rotate the map to whatever is in front of you, to mimic driving. What you are talking about is a simple map with a GPS active. It's much harder to read cause the orientation doesn't change with you.

Can anyone confirm that they can still connect to a Cisco based corporate wifi network after the update. I tried to connect to two separate sites, and I can't after the 2.0.1 update. All other wifi connections work (if not better) with the update. The corporate networks use WPA2 security as do the networks I was trying.

I don't have your problem as I don't connect to cisco stuff, but have you tried totally deleting that connection and re-establishing it again?

It may need to renegotiate settings with the new firmware on the driod as those connections are a bit more complicated than simple non-corporate connections.

I have deleted and re-established it multiple times, the funny thing is, on the Cisco Network Manager software, it shows that the device is associated! On the Droid, when you force it to connect, all it does is show 'scanning..' then immediately states 'disconnected'. I just tried it with another Droid (2.0.1) that was never configured with this network, and it connected fine on the first try. Any idea how to delete any cached connection info besides the 'Forget this Network' option?

Thanks!

Damn... here's another one. Google maps takes much longer to display a map than it used to. This update is one step forward, and three steps back. I'm mildly disappointed.

Just had a thought. Is it possible google maps is slow to load, and the internet is choppy because they are currently sending out so many OTH updates. Here's hope that it will improve.

Thats exactly what I would do.. pick "forget this network".. thats the only way your going to get rid of all the saved settings for that connection... maybe even a reboot, then come back up and re-establish the connection.

GREAT improvements on the virtual KB

(yes, I'm aware that I still misspelled some words... i was in a hurry)
The lag seems to be gone quite a bit from before
How did you get those sounds on the keyboard? I turned on sound in the settings but it doesn't sound as nice as yours as the spacebar and a few other key's sounds are much different than the others as if you mimic a typewriter, where yours all sound the same and I would prefer that on mine as well.
i dont think he's using sounds. I think what you are hearing is the sound of his fingers hitting the screen.

My battery life is markedly improved.

Like quite a bit.

I used the phone more today than I usually do. I normally have 30 percent remaining at the end of the day. Today I had 50 percent.

anyone still getting the echo from the other end of the phone call? i thought this update was supposed to fix this but i just had a client today complain they heard an echo.

I got them every third call before.. I haven't gotten the echo once since the update.

Is this an isolated event with this client?....

Every phone everywhere gets an echo from time to time.. its usually assumed to be a bad negotiation hookup with the tower and calling back fixes it......

Just want to make a distinction between the regular isolated echo issues we always get from time to time verses the ongoing issue with hardware that was addressed with the last firmware update.
