My Exchange email will now allow attachments to be opened! Woohoo! That saved me returning this thing.

Ditto for me. I am a heavy Exchange email user and had the same problem. Thanks for posting: I didn't think to check. It's working on mine now also. :icon_ banana:
Huh, not for me. Someone sent me a simple jpeg that opens fine from outlook, but on the droid I get the little blue question mark or I get "connection error". Yet another problem.

So I was without my droid for a week and finally received a new one today. If they did the OTA update in my area already how would I go about getting it again?

I am pretty sure that updates are not done by area. Every phone can be identified on the network. It would likely sense any phone that wasn't updated and initiate the OTA.

Well my roomate got his OTA yesterday, and I still have yet to get mine...

wouldn't you just go to settings>about phone>system updates?

Yes, but if you didn't get notified about it, you can't do the OTA. I didn't get mine yet, AND I cant' update the way you suggested..

In this case - no. Because they are controlling the roll-out. But sooner or later if you didn't do a manual update it would force the OTA. I wouldn't worry about it. Suspect that most folks haven't seen the update yet - I haven't. It will show up. And then you will be disappointed because it won't be any big deal and now you will have to find a new affair to get excited about.

I dunno, I think the new slider unlock bar is totally worth the hype !

Aghhh...to be young again and get so excited about such things!! You may be right. I am more interested in getting the bugs, i.e. email, worked out. I am also hoping that they will continue to support the phone with future updates and possibly features. This fix I think is because they put out a sloppy product and are just playing catch-up.

You guys can download the file from the Droid News forum on this site. It takes literally 5 minutes to update.

Is it just me or is the data connection speeds faster since the update? I was getting 200-400 kbps download but now in the same locations I get a minimum 500 kbps all the way up to 2000 kbps.

Not working..
Arggg

It didnt work for me the 1st time. Make sure you go to that link on your droid and rename it to update (no need to type .zip) and save it. Trust me, it worked for a lot of us
