New Findings and Fixes thread for Droid 2.0.1 OTA updates

Update showed up yesterday around 1500 EST.
I'm not sure it helped me in anyway.

The speed of the phone, mine actually seems noticeably slower and more lagged.

My device used to fly it was very noticeable but now its slower.

Is it just me?

reboot/reset. this will fix it.

Some folks are reporting a second reboot helps.

You need one honest reboot after everything is installed and configured.
Pulling the battery wouldn't hurt either.

As much as I didn't want to do this (too many bad memories from Blackberries) it's a necessary evil. It's amazing how much can be cleared up after this install with a simple battery pull. It's like starting with a fresh, brand new Droid!

Ok did my update two days ago. All has been well. But this morning I go into my contacts, and all of the pictures are gone??? I tried syncing fb again, still no pictures next to my contacts........ They were there before I went to sleep.

LOL! Coming from the Storm, I so feel you on the whole batt pull. But i did it and my Droid is BLAZING now. I was impressed beyond measure before the update. Now I am 100% in love with the damned thing!

I lost contacts the first morning my phone had slept all night...
But I haven't had the problem since.
Try to refresh the population by going into display modes and picking one of your groups "uncheck" mycontacts and view just that one group.

Now go back and recheck "mycontacts" and I bet you will seem them all.. possibly with the pictures too.

If the pictures still aren't showing up... go into your gallery and make sure the gallery can see them..... if not.. figure out why....you can try deleting the gallery icon and making new... .seems there are some differences to the new.

lost my picture frame widgets on home page, and got message home page was full when I tried to replace. However, rebooted and was able to put pix back. HOWEVER, they came back with black instead of white frames.:icon_eek:I really miss the white frames. They looked so good on the metallic black screen. The black frames don't show up at all. Haven't tried camera yet, but looking forward to shutter timing fix.

i like all the new updates except for the new unlock screen, makes it look too much like an iphone. i liked the arch unlock much better.

overall, the update has done wonders.

Update applied this morning, my reaction is that collectively we have made a whole lot of noise for not a lot of difference. I cant really tell thats its any faster (but then It wasnt slow before the update). The camera might be a little faster to shoot. The new unlock screen with the ability to silence the phone is nice.

Having said that, Im not disappointed at ALL... Im sure there are a lot of things embedded in it that will be helpful today and going forward (cant tell anything about battery YET, but Ill keep an eye on that). Im glad that Verizon/Moto/Google are keeping the Droid current. I just dont know that there was a whole lot of user visible bang in this update (which would be expected given its 2.0.1 - indicates a pretty minor update.

I dunno I went to bed at 3:00 am to 10:20am and just woke up and it went from 70 percent in battery to 40 percent in power. Before update it didn"t do that. I pulled battery and and powered on and off numerous times. I have gde running and weatherbug running, no wifi on, and gps is always on. So I dunno whats up...................... Got my update at 10:00 this morning. Contacts okay, Beautiful Widgets temp is off, browser scrolling choppier, virtual keyboard landscape about the same. I liked the original lock screen. This one is just okay. My phone was perfect before. Actually, I don't think this keyboard is as good as it was.

The new Lag issue in the Browser from 2.0.1 is getting attention, but I want to make more people aware of it so we can all report it.

I didn't notice it first, but the more I started using the browser on different sites it's very apparent.

I forced the update a couple of days ago and I've been noticing better signal strength at my house. I don't know anyone else that can get a signal up here, even on other vzw phones, but my calls are pretty clear.
