New Motorola Droid Update Available

Got the update just a few minutes ago, got unrooted but still have the super user icon in the app drawer. I HATE IT!!!!!

Yikes! I spoke too soon, I figured I'd have SPRecovery downloaded and install before my next reply but I can't find it in Market. Where do I get it?

Download rom manager, you can flash either clockwork mod recovery or sp reconvery right from there. (imo clockwork>sp)

Will I notice any changes?

I keep hearing about an OTA update and reading on the interwebs about needing to have 2.3.15 before trying to download the "early update" how does one go about getting the 2.3.15 build?

2.3.15 isn't android, its a VZW software update, not for the droid. Just so happened to have the first 2 (2.3) numbers as gingerbread...

search for "soup or root" its a one click root application for D1 and DX

Got the update overnight and installed it this AM without any problems. NON-rooted user.
The thing I thought a bit a strange was the update icon, it wasn't the triangle, it looked like a blank facebook contact.

I finally had to download the update zip file and do out manually. Been working fine. I was in build 2.3.15 as suggested.

It would be nice if people with the DROID X will see that this thread is for the update for the DROID 1 and not for the X, since they are completely different updates. :icon_rolleyes:
