New Motorola Droid Update Available

if i allow this update will i have to reroot my droid and reinstall my p3droid kernel again? or will everything stay as it was?...
thanks

If you download the one I linked to earlier, you'll have to reinstall your kernel but you won't lose root.

I am rooted with P3 FRG22D. Will this also work for me (check signature for setup).
You have a couple of posts with links which one is correct?

Or shoud I just wait for something to show up in ROM Manager.
However the Verrizon "request for update" is very persistent....more so tha the one for version 2.2.
My phone is listed as version 2.2...is this update to go to 2.2.1 or 2.3??

Well I wish someone would help me. Everytime I update it takes my Bluetooth voice comand feature out for my Blueant head sets.
The Q1 it shuts the Droids bluetooth OFF!
Now with the Q2 I have to hit the bluetooth button on the dialer screen after it dials.

WHY!

Problem fixed. A battery pull and ear bud reset with fresh pairing fixed them.

The new update for version 2.2.1 is amazing for my original Motorola Droid, it made my phone so much more responsive!

I manually downloaded the new update and I don't see where gmail or twitter is different. Really I don't see any changes so far.

To each his own

This is a perfect example of why id rather not do or deal.with rooting my DX, I prefer having officially developed.and tested updates for my first droid. I can see the clamor and reason for rooting, but it does nothing for my basic smartphone needs.

And no one is forcing you to join the dark side.

DOS baby

So is anyone in here old enough to remember the days when your entire PC was command-line driven, and there was no "Windows" as we think of it these days?

You'd boot the PC and the only thing you would see was this:

C:\>

Some of the manufacturing PC's at work still run on DOS 6.1 so I have to remain fluent in the command line. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

is this being pushed in stages ? i have yet to recieve notification ... phone is rooted not sure if that has anything to do with it

With those big, thin floppy disks with a hole in the middle. Wow...

I just got the update and I don't see anything different. News widget is the same. Gmail is the same. Stupid.

No update yet... I got the phone within a month after it was released and I'm pretty much always one of the last ones to get the updates... damnit, lol. Oh well, guess I'll just wait patiently... though my phone HAS been acting slow lately and I could REALLY use a boost in performance...
