So is anyone in here old enough to remember the days when your entire PC was command-line driven, and there was no "Windows" as we think of it these days?
You'd boot the PC and the only thing you would see was this:
And you used Edlin & DOS..... ohhhhh yeahhhh! First computer we bought had 20MG and thought it was huge!!!! We would NEVER need another computer....Whhhaaaaa Haaaaaa!!!:icon_ banana:
So I'm stock 2.2 Droid and got pushed the 2.2.1 update (I think, I was half asleep and hit update now). The phone showed it was rebooting and I went back to sleep....turns out it got stuck in a boot loop for probably an hour (before I woke up again). I finally pulled the battery and tried again this morning but I'm a good 5-10 mins of bootlooping. Any ideas? I tried to install the update.zip I have on the SD card, but it aborts with an error.

*LOL* You should have seen how excited I was when I got my Leading Edge WinPro 486! It had a whopping 120MB hard drive and a VGA screen. Coming from a 9" monochrome Epson monitor hooked to a Hercules monographics card, it was state of the art. Was cruising the bulletin boards (this was before the internet was readily accessible) at a blazing 25MHz!
O-Yea We have another commie here good old commodore was my first machine a well! A 300 Baud modem and a couple 1571 floppy drives were da bom. Boy thoes were the days. I remember makeing that thing do things it was never designed to do. I put a 20 meg HD on it and with a little help got it to work breaking copyrights of course.
Anyone remember the Plato Terminals? I was communicating across the world with kids of CDC employees long before we knew what the internet was...long before DOS on floppies was cool. We had a game based on starwars theme with four quadrents of the universe with teams that competed against each other. Then the PC made that whole market crash and we got stuck back into the dark ages of a desktop computer.
I rooted with Soup or Root but kept the standard recovery (No custom roms or kernals) and I was able to apply the update manually but my root was broken after the update. I tried Z4Root and Soup or Root to re-root but both failed. Ended up using Super One Click Root to get root permissions running properly again.
Any OTA update will break your root access for your phone that has been rooted. I was asking, for the ones that have updated their phones and rooted them again, that if they were using their custom kernels again is it working properly?
