no, running pe hd theme. stock kernal though. phone is running smooth and responsive. just had the one reboot so far. things are good on this end.

thats what i was thinking. i had problems in the past with handcent. im thinking it was probably the reason.

Thats one of my biggest issue with MIUI is my inability to set notifcation sound to silent, but leave ringer on with a profile app like toggle settings.

Have you tried to use Timeriffic? I use it and can set Ringer and Notification volumes at various times during the day. Wanted to mention it, in case you hadn't tried it. Works fine with MIUI, as far as I can see.

Running everything stock , I had a hard lockup 2 hrs after loading the rom and haven't went back yet. I want to give it another shot, but this is the 2nd build now that hasn't played nice on my phone.

char is short for character

And DroidForums requires at least 10 characters to post.
So people add the 10 Char to fulfill the requirement.

I understand what you are saying and actually agree with your assessment. However, if it acts like an SMS client, looks like an SMS client, and smells like an SMS client, I'd consider it my SMS client.

You can't send a picture through Google Voice, but you still consider it an SMS client? I'll tell you what, I can send SMS through my PC's web browser on a dozen site off the top of my head; I still don't consider a web site an SMS client.

Now can we have it be recognized by MIUI as one so I can have a choice of which one to pick on my LOCK SCREEN? Please.

Not likely. This is a Chinese ROM made by Chinese Dev's for Chinese users and ported by the good people here at Team D1-MIUI (which I'm tremendously grateful too BTW), Google Voice is US only (last I checked). So the chances of having the Chinese Dev's change the lock screen to work with an app they can't even use is as close as having Pluto re-categorized as a planet.

The funny thing is that this choice is there in MIUI when you go to contact, click the picture of a contact, and choose text from the opened up menu. It gives me a choice of native client, handcent, or google voice with the option box to be used by default at the bottom. So if can be there, don't you think it not being at the lock screen is just an oversight? Cheers.

It's not at all surprising that a Google app like Google Voice would work seamlessly with another Google coded app like Phone.apk and Contacts.apk on a (*gasp*) Google powered phone. And like I said before, Chinese ROM + US only app = Fat chance; so no, it's not an oversight just because US users think it is.

I've been using Google Voice for a long time now (since right after it's renaming from GrandCentral to Google Voice mid 2009). And I love it and hope it keeps growing in features as time passes, but I also know it's limitations and I've learned to live with them instead of coming onto a forums begging and pleading for a feature that won't likely be implemented unless it's by Google itself.

The way I see it, you have 3 good options. Mod/Code/Reverse-engineer the MIUI lock screen yourself to work with Google Voice, Request this change to the Chinese Dev's over at miui.com and pray one of them thinks it's a worthwhile project, or simply deal with it like everyone else has.

google would have to add an intent reciever to be picked up by the lockscreens messaging button's intent. or someone would have to hack the app
probably wouldnt be too difficult

Not very practical though, every subsequent version update would then have to be re-modded. If the changes were made to the lock screen itself then Google Voice updates (few and far between as they may be) would not hinder functionality (He giveth and he taketh away, as it were).

Use Zedge it's free in the Market. They have tons of sounds including the DROID sound.

Loaded this new release yesterday I believe and I was using Chevy's low voltage 1.25 kernel and every time I plug the phone in to charge it starts boot looping. I figured it was the kernel so I went to slayher's 1.275 or something similar and it had the same behaviour, so then I wiped data, cache, did a factory reset and reinstalled the ROM and it still had the same behaviour. This is with the stock ROM and with Bliss_SuaveHD Theme by MrDSL.

Does anyone know what may be happening? Sorry if this has already been addressed, but I looked through this entire thread and haven't found anything similar. I really love this ROM and all of the other versions have been decent but this one is completely unusable because instead of charging the phone it just sits and drains my battery.

I loaded this up tonight and I cannot get it to send a text message.....it pops up as not sent and i try to resend it but it doesn't....i've rebooted and the problem persists, does anyone have any ideas
EDIT: wait does it read as not sent if they do not have their phone on? i can send one to myself but it won't let me send one to a friend of mine who probably has his phone off
