New soak

901 is almost perfect for me but 1 of the "fixes" listed in the changelog doesnt work right. When I travel to Hagerstown, MD (I have family there) I am suppose to switch over to 4G.....the problem is that it doesnt really switch over unless I airplane toggle the phone.

This is mine three or however you say it. Did anyone else notice at the end of the survey that it said we will get back to you to know if you will participate or not. Does that mean that i'm not automatically getting the update?

That's correct, you're not automatically getting the update. If you read the email closer it says that 1,000 users will be chosen randomly. I'm sure everybody is keeping their fingers crossed that they're part of the 1,000

Here is to hoping....

Menu---- Settings --- About Phone --- System Updates .... Your device is up to date! DANG!!!!

Sure have to wonder though, why 901 was leaked weeks ago and despite being wonderful - it has never been released. Only two reasons come to mind for a delay; a glaring problem cropped up with 901 (which does not seem to be the case), or ICS was going well enough that the date for it was not sliding, making 901 a waste of time. Last November someone posted leaked hints from Motorola or VZW that some big news was coming which would make Bionic users happy. I wonder if this might mean an accelerated release of ICS?

Well, a 3rd reason... if you look around on this and other forums, you will find, despite numbers of people that report that 901 fixed all their data problems, there are some folks that report that it did not. So perhaps they still needed some more fixes before releasing a 901/902ish patch, hence the delay.

I am still on 886. I have never gotten any update notices, but my Bionic functions perfectly. Is Verizon tracking connectivity and not trying to fix what already works?

Or this could be the test for the real release of .901.

No, your phone's update system is broke. I bet if you hit settings..about phone...check for updates you will get 'Update service is not available'. If that is what you get there are two things to try. Shut it down, pull the Sim card. Power it up...it will error about the missing SIM card...then shut it down and put the SIM back in.

If that does not fix it, unfortunately the next step is a factory reset. But you should definitely be getting the 893 update.
