people that have already seen this discount applied to your bill; can someone tell me if the $20 off deducts before or after your discount has been applied?

i'm assuming before. so data would end up being $9.99/mo as opposed to 3.99/mo with a 20% discount. a savings difference of $4/mo.

So I called them up, had a real nice rep. He said he could move the date on the second line to today, but if he did that, the buy one get one free promo would not work.

I also asked when the smartphones talk free event ends...January 7th, second line upgrades on the 8th...FML

Currently on the 700min/unlimited text/data plan (99.99 + 29.99 data)
primary line Droid 1 (had since day 1)
secondary line Envy 1,(9.99 with no data plan) upgrade eligible Jan.8

So I want to take advantage of this promo and the BOGO events but can't do it until secondary line is eligible

Call and switch it does not affect for upgrade date it will extend you envy contract 1 year til 12-2011 but your upgrade will still be available for Jan 8 i hope this helps

my friend called and was trying to do the promo. He called the 877 number and the lady he talked to said because the promo was an all-inclusive plan that your discounts go away...because discounts are meant to be on the primary line only and not the secondary lines

i just called the 877 number, talked to a very nice lady named Valerie. when she asked how she could help me i said "i want to find out what i need to do, or have to get the Text and Talk plus Data promo" she pulled up my account and said she would see what she could do for me... i can tell you, i never got an email/text about this promo. but she said she would be glad to give it to me. and i get to keep my government employee discount. so now i have double the minutes, and will be saving $40 a month... thanks OP!!

it works, only the logistic department can help you,i only save 20 cause it cost 20 to upgrade to 1400 but discount 20 on each phone,i only have 2 with data, so +20-40+20 lol

It's very hilarious how the reps are so different. When I called for my promotion I had to jump through hoops. When I called them on my girlfriends phone so she could get the promotion...the dude didn't even ask to speak to her (the primary account holder). It took less than 5 minutes. He told me that this was a Midwest-Only promotion and that is why most of you outside the Midwest aren't able to get this promotion (sucks).

There are many plans and promotions out there I am just learning. I got a text to my phone about a plan which I signed up for that is called Mobile to Any Mobile NW Talk and Text that says (obviously I guess) calls I get from or make to any wireless number on any carrier will not count against my minutes. No change in minutes or data limits and no change in price. I did it just to make sure I never went over my minutes since many friends and family are with different carriers, but after seeing this thread and that other one http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-news/95195-new-unlimited-plan-big-red.html I went on line and got into a chat session with a Verizon rep. He said since my recent change is still pending he couldn't do anything but he told me about another promo. I can call back after this pending thing kicks in and then sign up for that one. I think a plan to save me money is better; I've never gone over the minutes yet anyway. But maybe that's why there's so much confusion about this topic; there are so many plans and promotions for different areas of the country. I won't lie about getting an email I didn't get, but I don't see anything wrong about checking to make sure I'm getting the best deal.

the lady told me they can offer it to everyone but only certain reps know about it,which is why you get into the logistics department, i called 1-800-922-0204 hit zero then said im trying to get to logistics department
