New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

With this promotion my bill was supposed to be 140+ tax and instead was 180+. My next bill was automatically adjusted to 100 to offset the extra charges from the first month. Now I'm expecting my usual 140+. I don't use anywhere near the amount of text or data required to justify the unlimited plan but the -20 to each data plan makes it worth it.

Thank you all! Got the $20 discount! Called 611 pressed 4 for other options, asked for promotions, was on hold for a good 15 mins. CSR was very nice when asked for TLk, txt data disc, but she had to research, so was on hold another 10 min. She came back and tranfered me to another department who then gave me the disc. Total time, 46 mins My contract was not extended bcuz I had more than a year remaining on my contract, & I did not have to do anything to my 2nd line and she retro'd back to the begining of the month! Finally, even if it is small its something for all the years I've been with VZW (AirTouch) 20!

First call went nowhere, got shut down.

Second call took 54 minutes and two different reps but I got the deal. Seems that you really need to stay on them if the don't offer it up. In the end I had to pull the "i've been with Verizon since Airtouch days" card and why do some get the deal and I can't? I was nothing but nice and respectful and I think that gets you along way with the reps.

I have two smartphone and two dumb phones and only had to put the promo on The two smartphones only. That means I just saved $40 a month.dancedroid

They also said that I just have to ask for the deal when I turn the dumb phones into smartphones in the future.

I'm in California. Good luck to all that try.

Droidcoug: if your upgrading to a smartphone in jan, you should still call and get the plan now while they are offering it. If you get the plan and pay for the second data plan for one month (only 10 bucks), in my opinion that is well worth the 240 you'll save this year, and next year, and year after, etc... You don't want to miss the boat!

can you confirm you still get your employee discounts?

I already did confirm this on page 8. I posted a copy/paste of my verizon page.

So all I was really saying is that it'd be worth it to get yourself locked in to the plan so when you are ready to upgrade the line in a couple weeks, you'll be all set.

Here it is again... under promotion it lists both my 15% employer discount and the $20 discount. And many other people have also been confirming that they keep their employer discount.

I also just received the Talk & Text Plus Data $20 Discount. I just called 611, pressed 4, said "promotions" and told the rep that I was told about the "Talk & Text Plus Data" promotion and told her a bit about it. She put me on hold and came back to explain that I would have to add data to every phone line (2 already had it). It saved me $10 a month, but now all 5 lines have data. I'm in Tennessee by the way.
 
Third time trying it today. The rep did acknowledge the upgrade but indicated that I am not qualified because the rest of my lines are not due for an upgrade.

Misinformed rep. And, yes all lines will have data waiting for when they add a device on the non-data lines. I am on this new plan and 3 lines already are unlimited data and my wife and son's lines are still not smartphones, but once they do upgrade to a smartphone, no additional cost to me for data packages. This is what's nice.

Now, when you call, you might want to mention the plan that the "CMO Department is offering". Maybe that will set the wheels in motion of the VZW Rep you're speaking to.
 
Officially, the Verizon smartphone promotion should be available everywhere. If you see it advertised, then you should be able to get it.

Now while I can't speak on internal policies specifically, if you call Verizon customer care, they can play with your upgrade date a little bit here our there. Ask the care agent specifically if your upgrade can be moved up. Don't expect more than a few days though. Remember that customer retention is extremely important to any business, Verizon included. They will work with you as much as they are able to to keep your business.

I was there for 2-1/2 years and a senior rep. I have a lot of VZW friends in Care and BSC and they are telling me the stories. Doesn't sound like scoring calls got any easier either to get leading.
