New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

I did the same. Rep said it wasn't (supposed to be) available in our area (Tennessee) but she honored it anyway.

Wife was due for upgrade on NE2, asked, she honored instant rebate (says online only...) for new Incredible for wifey... happy camper, now there's going to be a surprise going under the tree!! yee-haw:biggrin:
 
OK, first attempt was a bust (posted about it I think on page 7), Decided to try again today. I just got off the phone with one of the nicest VZW reps I have ever talked to in my entire time with them. She took care of it all. Told her i got the email, and she went right to work changing my plan. I have 3 lines on a family plan, all smartphones, 1400 mins. So my bill was over 200/monthly. She got me down to 155.00 (not counting the netbook i got for the mrs for christmas). So, for those he.e that are not getting hte plan...... DO NOT GIVE UP!!! I got it, took a couple of tries, but i got it.
 
I called 3 times and spoke with 5 different people until I contacted someone who knew about it. Total talk time was 24 minutes.

I was on the 1400 plan with 5 lines. 2 of which had the unlimited data package. I paid $60 per month for those 2 lines. With the new promotion, I pay $50 per month for unlimited data on all 5 lines.

I was going to add a third line anyway, so it worked out perfect for my needs.

I asked a whole bunch of questions and these are some of the answers I received.

1. You MUST add unlimited data to every line on your plan.
2. It is a "Holiday" promotion only.
3. It extends your contract 1 year and early termination fees apply.
4. You receive $20 off every unlimited data package.
5. It continues on your contract until you leave Verizon wireless. (I've been with them for about 15 years, so that's not gonna affect me.

Hope this answers some questions if they were not already answered.

My contract end date is 2/12/2012. It wasn't extended. I was expecting it to the point that i even told the rep that if you have to, extend it, I will take that to save some money on my bill.
 
thanks for the info kookahdoo. However its not a savings for me if i double my minutes to 1400 from 700 and change secondary line to data. I will try again after secondary line gets upgraded with the bogo offer in mid january.
 
I called 2 times - Once last night and again tonight. I was successful on the second attempt. Here's what I did:

1. Called 1-800-922-0204
2. Pick option 0
3. Say "promotions"
4. Tell the rep that you are looking for the Holiday promo called the Talk, Text, & Data Promo with the $20 dollar data discount.
5. She put me on hold and then came back and said she had to transfer me to a different dept. for this promo
6. I got transferred and spoke to the next rep and told her that I was looking for the Talk, Text, & Data Promo with the $20 dollar data discount
7. She changed my plan - the only thing is that it did extend my contract 1 year from today's date.

I now have 2 lines, 1400 shared mins, unlimited data for both lines, and unlimited texting for both lines for $139 (was $179 for the same, but with only 250 texts). The promo is good for as long as you are a Verizon customer and it does not affect your new every 2 upgrade dates.

OP, and everyone else in this thread, thank you so much for posting this!!!!!
 
Is everyone on family share finding that they have to get data on every line too? My elderly mother in law is one line, she just uses the cell phone if she's fallen and can't get up :icon_eek:. Another line is my kids that I use as a home line. I don't want them to have data on their phone - texting yes, internet no. The other 2 lines are my husband and myself and we have brand new Droid Xs with unlimited data. Right now it appears I pay $80/mo for 1400 family share minutes, and $10/m for 3 additional lines. Plus the new $60 we just added for the data plans (didn't have smart phones before this). Do you think it's worth a call for us? It doesn't make sense for me to add data to 2 lines that can't/won't use it to save $40/month. Seems like it will cost me in the end $20 more...?

Guess I oughta just pick up the phone and call 'em, huh?
 
Droidcoug: if your upgrading to a smartphone in jan, you should still call and get the plan now while they are offering it. If you get the plan and pay for the second data plan for one month (only 10 bucks), in my opinion that is well worth the 240 you'll save this year, and next year, and year after, etc... You don't want to miss the boat!

By all means! I've read some posts here where people only had 2 of 4 lines getting the discounts. Just may have to call more than once
 
Thank you all in the forum for discussing this wonderful promotion. I called today to inquire about it. I told them that I received a flyer on a discussion board (nameless) regarding the promotion. The first representative (who was nice) said he didn't see the promo on the plan, but transferred me to sales department. I then spoke with a friendly lady who also repeated they were unable to do the promotion because I didn't receive an email. I politely insisted on "doing what I can to take advantage" of the plan, because I was trying to save money, and needed Verizon's coverage. She put me on a brief hold and told me I received a secondary approval for the promotion, and she set me up!

She was very nice, and I expressed my sincere appreciation.

Basically, being friendly and honest went a long way, and I was successful in saving some money. BTW, this was on my first call to Verizon. They have my support!
