New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

no expiration date on that promo that I know of and people on here and other forums are still getting it by calling so sounds like they gave you another offer and you bit thus saving them money. You have to stick to your guns and fight it out with them in most instances.

Over 2 year contract your talking savings of $960 vs. $240 and unless you do anythign flukey with your plans you are locked into those rates thus increasing the savings year after year...

No no. I didnt bight yet, sorry if I confused anyone. I am going to try it again. Right now I have 1 Smartphone and 1 Dumb, the Dumb phone is going to be upgraded in the coming months, so I asked about the "talk to text plus data promo" so that I could basically be set for when I upgrade the dumb phone. The CSR told me the promo ended so I ask what else was out there as far as promotions and what I stated above was another option. I didnt make a move yet. Believe me, I dont give up that easy I usually fight to the bitter end, thus y I have a DX after breaking my D1. I was upgrade because of the "shortage" of D1s, but thats another topic...

Seems like they will say anything to get you off the phone, next time call up and say you want to talk to their supervisor.

this technically isnt a promo, as they are pretty much only changing your plan to this one:

he wouldnt add it for me because i am the only one on my family plan that has data plan, then he told me that pretty much what he would be doing would be changing the family plan to a "talk and text plus data promo"

which in my case, would make my plan $40 more a month because of the 5 lines, 4 of them are basic phones

Yeah - I am in the same boat. I've been tracking this post since the start, and I have been offered the promo. It would cost me more money, but there is value there: 1400 minutes instead of 700, and data access for 4 other lines at an attractive price. But, it'll mean buying smartphones for one/more of the other lines and it starts to add up quickly. I've been over the numbers a few times, and I still don't see pulling the trigger yet.

hmmm... based on the "blogged about" quote, i'd say vzw is working to deter people from signing up for the promo. did she even bother checking your account to see if the promo was offered to you?

next time, play dumb, tell the CSR you have no idea what that means that you were interested in renewing your contract at the promo price. i'm sure someone somewhere can override whatever "expiration" has happened.

Well, I called this morning and received the promotion change to my account. The rep was really nice - from Northern California. I have 4 lines - 2 Droids & 2 regular lines. They made me change all to full data plans. I already had unlimited text with 1400 minutes. So, I save about $20 a month and gain two more unlimited data phones. Now I need to find two more smart phones.

But, I told 3 friends and they called today and they were all told no. One Rep got upset and told my friend to tear up his flyer and stop trying to steal other people's promotions. I wonder why such inconsistency?

Just got my promo. I had to upgrade to 1400 minutes and add a data plan onto my line. Still saved money so when I get my Droid in Jan for upgrade I'll already have data. Glad I stumbled across this thread. I'm from GA and they gave me no problems at all

I dont think she checked anything, since it was pretty quick. I had something to do following the call, so I didnt want to spend the time going up the chain and arguing at the time (was hoping for a quick arrangement). Obviously that didnt work out. When I call back I'll try the playing dumb routine, then ask for a supervisor if they keep up the spiel.

i'm not following, ghost rider. this is what we've been discussing throughout the entire thread. this promo requires that you upgrade to the nationwide talk and text (if you weren't already there) and if you have a DROID/smartphone, you probably already have the $29.99/mo added to your bill.

the promo simply includes the $20 discount as a promo item.

you have to look at your bill in its entirety.
