New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

I don't think you got the correct plan you were looking for the way it sounds.

Yeah, I think what isn't being realized here is that the "unlimited data" in that plan is not a smartphone data plan. It's the type of unlimited I got with my LG Voyager.

I pay more for Verizon service because it is good. They don't screw up my bill, and my phone works literally everywhere. I don't care that it costs a little more. I care that when I take the phone out of my pocket and do something with it, it works. Period.

Well, I called this morning and received the promotion change to my account. The rep was really nice - from Northern California. I have 4 lines - 2 Droids & 2 regular lines. They made me change all to full data plans. I already had unlimited text with 1400 minutes. So, I save about $20 a month and gain two more unlimited data phones. Now I need to find two more smart phones.

But, I told 3 friends and they called today and they were all told no. One Rep got upset and told my friend to tear up his flyer and stop trying to steal other people's promotions. I wonder why such inconsistency?

What a mess they make out of their billing.

Yes the promo is a credit for $20 of your smartphone access so you only pay $9 for each smartphone as opposed to the $30. So each phone on the plan saves you $20 if you had a smartphone.

I went from 150ish with my 2 droids to 110 for both lines (though I also have a discount on the talk and text portion)

Wrong. I got on this plan the first day this story was posted. I have 2 DX's and they both get a $20 discount off each data plan. I literally pay $139.99 for 1400 minutes, 10 friends & family, unlimited text, and unlimited smartphone data. My bill has been the same exact price for 2 months and counting. I think you got put on some other promotion.

I just joined VZW from AT&T and am on a 1400 minutes family plan with my brother and grandfather. Any likelihood I could get on this plan?

I am starting my third year as a VZW customer, so the first thing I was told this morning was I was not eligible for this plan, as it was sent to longer term customers only as a loyalty reward. And, the somewhat befuddled CSR was having a hard time explaining why certain promotions, like smartphones talk free cannot be added to a promotional plan. So off to a supervisor I went.

Now, thanks to supervisor Megan, if I can decipher my bill when it comes, I should see a net savings of $20 per line on my 4 droid, 1400 minute family plan, so it should go from $190/mo to $110 ?

I have my fingers crossed.

And as others have said, polite, friendly persistence go a long way.

Can you (or one of the friends who got the promo) call the rep, confirm the promotion, and then pass the phone to the other friend who can then ask to speak with someone regarding getting the promo added to his plan? A supervisor should be able to do this.

This is the same promotion as in the other thread. Not sure if threads can be combined on this forum. The other thread was posted right when the promo was released. This thread was posted not too long ago (last week). Both threads are saying the same thing... some peope are getting it, some people aren't. The key is to not give up.

I thought about that for a while and the reason I didn't do it was because the way the word got out about this promotion was different from the way the word got out about the second promotion but I think at this point it's all one and the same.

I called and I was told they did not have a record of them sending me an email with this offer. He said he could not offer that to me right now... any ideas on what I should do?
