New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

I am starting my third year as a VZW customer, so the first thing I was told this morning was I was not eligible for this plan, as it was sent to longer term customers only as a loyalty reward. And, the somewhat befuddled CSR was having a hard time explaining why certain promotions, like smartphones talk free cannot be added to a promotional plan. So off to a supervisor I went.

Now, thanks to supervisor Megan, if I can decipher my bill when it comes, I should see a net savings of $20 per line on my 4 droid, 1400 minute family plan, so it should go from $190/mo to $110 ?

I have my fingers crossed.

And as others have said, polite, friendly persistence go a long way.



i have been a customer for about 3 months, and i got it no questions asked.... so thats BS from them :X
 
I called and I was told they did not have a record of them sending me an email with this offer. He said he could not offer that to me right now... any ideas on what I should do?

i can tell you what i told them in a PM if you want. only reason why i say in PM is because its a family member who has a history with verizon, and i dont want everyone to be using his name. lol
 
YEs please! i told them i got it from a friend too but they did not budge... i been a member of verizon for about 5 years now... sucks! :/

Finally got my regular bill - saved two bucks, but the upgrades in minutes/data and text are priceless :happy:

It may not change, but next month's bill will be the full determining factor of how much you save based on when you called and switched. This current bill will carry any applicable pro rated amounts from the prior plan so you may end up saving more than that when the next full cycle bill arrives. but like you said, the other benefits are still worth it if it doesnt change for you.

Same thing happened to me, I called 6 times with no luck. The 7th time I asked for his supervisor, I was put on hold for 5 minutes, and he came back and said I was approved for the deal. I was polite the entire time.
 
Maybe they are just making us work for our discount!!! Damm Verizon :) Should I call and directly ask for the supervisor?

Well I was getting much resistance from the agent and he didn't even want to transfer me to the manager. He even kept questioning why I wanted to speak to her. I finally got through and she fed me a bunch of bs to not send this info to anyone else since they are not allowed to be giving this discount to everyone. I asked what the criteria was for getting chosen and it seemed that it wasn't at random, but they did not know what that was... so I kept saying that I was curious on why I was not selected. Then she said it was for "special" customers and then I said... "im not special". Finally they budged!! yay!
 
In this day and age, Verizon should know that nothing stays secret for very long. All I expect is some level of consistency. If you must have an email to get the promotion, FINE... have a code in the email that can only be honored once. Call up, mention your individual code, get the promo. Done. No code, no promo. But they sent this email out with no specifics, all it says is "limited time".

Agreed that's the bottom line just received my bill which customer rep backdated plan to last month cycle end 12-19.. saved $60 on 3 lines. Called promo prorate pda android -$20 for each line.dancedroid We'll see what happens next month:icon_eek:
 
just tried it and they do record all the times you call regarding this thing.... im on my third one and the best they can do is put in a "request" to see if i can get the promo.
 
Just an FYI: since this plan has been leaked via blog and forums, they are restricting distribution and may discontinue any new distribution of this promotion. A cool a this is that you all are trying to help us fellow customers out, it may have screwed us at the same time... If anyone got this plan, consider yourself lucky.

I don't have a clue as to why Verizon decided to distribute this plan the way they have done it but it's got to be the worst kept secret on earth. I've been on the new plan for over a month now, and I'm surprised that they just haven't made it available for everyone. This is a strange way to do business imho.
 
they said the promo is only for select people and that those people have phones with a data package... my wife still has an old envy and i have dx so i told them that i would upgrade her phone if they gave me the deal...

it would still be cheaper than what we pay if that happened
