New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

they said the promo is only for select people and that those people have phones with a data package... my wife still has an old envy and i have dx so i told them that i would upgrade her phone if they gave me the deal...

it would still be cheaper than what we pay if that happened

I have 3 lines d2, dinc, and envy3. One of the customer reps said i needed to upgrade envy3 the only line out of contract. My wife didn't want any other phone so didn't get promo at that time. I called a few days later and extended her line to additional year without upgrading phone and received promo. Her line is still eligible for phone upgrade. Make them an offer they can't refuse.

Im just discovering this post and just bought a DX and signed a 2 year contract two weeks ago. can I still pos get this?

Well, you certainly can try. Some people get it on the first try. Some get it after several attempts. Some just don't get it at all.

I don't have a clue as to why Verizon decided to distribute this plan the way they have done it but it's got to be the worst kept secret on earth. I've been on the new plan for over a month now, and I'm surprised that they just haven't made it available for everyone. This is a strange way to do business imho.
the people who know about this deal are still in the minority. think about how many people HAVEN'T called about this deal.

It's worth a shot, what do you have to lose?
Maybe they are just making us work for our discount!!! Damm Verizon :) Should I call and directly ask for the supervisor?

YEs please! i told them i got it from a friend too but they did not budge... i been a member of verizon for about 5 years now... sucks! :/
Same thing happened to me, I called 6 times with no luck. The 7th time I asked for his supervisor, I was put on hold for 5 minutes, and he came back and said I was approved for the deal. I was polite the entire time.

Agreed. 100,000 people have viewed this thread. Maybe half that called. Vzw has over 80,000,000 customers.

changing plans and/or renewing contracts has no bearing on your device renewal date, provided they are performed separately.

Just an FYI: since this plan has been leaked via blog and forums

Ummmmmm.....isn't that sorta the purpose of a forum like this, to share information between interested folks ?

I mean, gee whiz, if you snooze, you lose, like lots of other things in life. Keeping secrets kinda defeats the whole purpose of this, it seems.

I just called and activated this plan. Of course I'm willing to extend the contract on each line for another year! We live in the middle of nowhere, Verizon is the only good choice for us. This saves us about $60/mo on 3 lines. SWEET!

Rep. said this will not affect our ability to upgrade our phones.

I had four phones when I added this promotion to my account the other day. The first two phones had no contract and were elegible for upgrades; the other two were not elegible for upgrades and had about 18 months left on contract. The first two received a 1 year contract extension, but it did not effect the upgrade elegibility. Nothing changed on the other two phones. I'm currently waiting on my new Droid Xs for the first two lines - I used the upgrades on those lines and it worked fine. They will be here tomorrow. I get two year contracts with these phones, but I've been w/Verizon for years and they're the only good option where I live anyway. Hope this helps.

Well, I called this morning and received the promotion change to my account. The rep was really nice - from Northern California. I have 4 lines - 2 Droids & 2 regular lines. They made me change all to full data plans. I already had unlimited text with 1400 minutes. So, I save about $20 a month and gain two more unlimited data phones. Now I need to find two more smart phones.

But, I told 3 friends and they called today and they were all told no. One Rep got upset and told my friend to tear up his flyer and stop trying to steal other people's promotions. I wonder why such inconsistency?

Two of my friends got the promo now, but they keep telling the otherone no.

Can you (or one of the friends who got the promo) call the rep, confirm the promotion, and then pass the phone to the other friend who can then ask to speak with someone regarding getting the promo added to his plan? A supervisor should be able to do this.

Update: All my friends got the deal now from the original post. They had to call several times. I told one more friend now and he was told no twice. I don't know if he has called back yet. Seems everyone can get it if they're persistent enough.

One of my friends had to call three times. I told him not to give up based on what I saw on this forum. And, I joked and said, what are they going yo do, shut your service off if you call too many times? If Verizon didn't want everyone to get this, they would have put one-time use promo codes in the emails. I don't know why, but it's almost like a marketing game/forum test to see who reads these things. If they really thought it was going to hurt their business, they wouldn't be offering it at all. Think about all the new 1 & 2 year contracts their getting from this! It's not like they don't know this forum exists - Verizon has people that read this stuff too. In the end it's good marketing - makes people think their not going to get something and make it seem super special and it will make people crazy for it. Its good for business and competition.
