Woo Hoo!!!! I just called and at first the girl wouldn't give it to me because I had a forwarded email without my number at the bottom AND she said the promo was over unless you had the email. I asked to speak to a supervisor, waited about a minute and the same girl got back on and said her supervisor said to give it to me...I have been a customer for many years...so add this promo to my already 19% corp discount and my bill went from $77/month to $57!!!! I love the power of the internet!!!!!

She even said I was eligible to add up to 5 more lines to my account for only $9.99 more with 700 minutes...I use less than 100/month. I might transfer my mom to my account to save her some cash...!

So I called today and I am on a contract with my younger brother who just signed a 2 year a couple months ago and I signed one also a few weeks ago and I got this deal first try. I think its all about who you get. I got a very friendly woman who was very willing to do this for me...so dont give updancedroid

Hi, how does this work? My bill is about 150.00. We have 1000 minutes, three lines but only mine has internet and text. My parents have two lines. My mom wants to get a smart phone now and text. Does this get rid of the 9.99 per line addition?

I also have 3 lines with 1400 min. $110 (droid2, dinc, envy3) all lines were charged $29.99 email & web , two lines additional 9.99. Then each line received $20 Talk & text plus data disc. ($60 total). I'm saving a bundle:)

mikespe: Did you get a version of this promo that is 700 minutes rather than 1400 minutes? We have three Droids and barely brush 300 a month. If there is a 700 minute version, that may be a nice additional little discount.

I was able to get this the first time I called, and the lady wanted to know where I heard of the promo, so I told her Droid forums. She didn't ask for a code or anything.

I also note that the phone numbers are different.
Regular customer service: (800) 922-0204
Number on this offer: (877) 873-3278
Maybe this makes a difference on how fast you find an agreeable rep?

Just got this the first try tonight

FYI
I called tonight at 8:30 eastern time. I called the number on the advertisement on the first post and got the deal right away no questions asked.

Just want to throw some caution out there. If you are going to do a Family Share plan, the minimum plan you can have is the 1400 minute plan, but what I really want to point out is you can have a grand total of 5 lines sharing the minutes. Not 5 secondary lines and a primary line.

How much would this save on an $85/month individual plan? I called about this and the rep I spoke with had no idea what I was talking about.

I did not add any lines yet. The girl on the phone just told me I was eligible to do so...I am still at 450 min...

I am aware of this regarding the shared lines...but between my mom and I we really don't use many minutes. However the girl on the phone is the one that brought up the 700 min plan...not me...she said I could add a line for 9.99 and the plan would be $69 with the addition AND the promo & my discounts...so basically $10 more than what I am paying now..

when a rep tells you they have no idea what you're talking about, you need to make sure you're doing two things:

1. call the number on the flyer. don't call 611, don't call cust service, only dial the number on the flyer.
2. ask for the promotion by name (nationwide talk and text plus data promotion).

if the rep still has no idea, ask for a supervisor.

as far as savings go, your number means nothing. do you already have nationwide talk and text? alot of people do not, so initially your bill will be higher, but once the $20 discount kicks in, you can save as much as $20/mo or as little as $6/mo.

640K, that is incorrect. The way it is suppose to work is like this:

They prorate your bill from the time you change your plan. If you already have a bill for that month when you change plans, you pay that bill. They will then credit you for the month at the old rate, including text charges. My plann was 5.00 so I received a 5.00 credit.

Then they will bill you again for that previous month at the new rate. The reason it may be higher on the first billing is because there is an error in the bill and you have to catch it and ask for credit. Where is the error?

When they re-bill you for the previous month they are suppose to give you the 20.00 credit for text and data just like the do for the upcoming month. On my bill they didn't do that, I spotted it and got the credit.

My bill this month should have been only 5.00 less from last month where the total came out to be 84 and some change. I don't see it on the bill, but I did get 20.00 credit and for some reason this first bill came in around $70.00. A larger savings then I anticipated.

My bill gets paid by my credit card so that's what they took, and it says paid in full. I'm a happy camper.

i don't think you and I are talking about the same thing. i didn't mean to say that you were going to be charged more, i meant that the nationwide talk and text cost more than older plans, or plans where you pay for text messages separately.

example: i paid for 900 min @ 59.99 + 500 txt messages @ $10 + unl data @ 29.99. so my bill was about $100 before discounts and tax. when i switched to the nationwide talk and text, my plan went up: 900 min @ 79.99 + unl data @ 29.99 = ~110/mo. that's where the increase takes place.

when the promo kicks in (not timing, but through billing) is when you'll see the difference. for me, because i was already on the t&t, my bill will go down about $15/mo (because one of my discounts drops off). if you don't have nationwide t&t, your savings will be lower.

droidXpert's $85/mo means nothing until he/she describes what plan they have.

OK, I misread what you were saying then. It sounded like you got caught in that 20.00 trap (to me). Still it's good for people to keep an eye on billing. Mistakes can be made.

I happend across this site while searching for info on my phone and found this thread, called the number and saved $40 a month plus tax on a 2 line plan with 2 droid x's.
