New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

Just an update. I called the mentioned number and evidently the promotion is over for new customers..... I also called 2 local stores and they gave me completley different prices...... SO confused.

Wife and kids gave me a Captivate for christmas....I have 30 days to decide if I want to keep it.... I am completley out of a contract so I would like to have options.

Any suggestions?

I just got this to work on my 2nd attempt this afternoon. Called the number on the email.

The lady I delt with asked about the email and if it was sent to me from Verizon or a forward from someone else. I told her that I got it from Verizon, not true of course, and she never asked me about it again. I was very polite and even made some small talk with her which seemed to help a lot. Her name was Pam, if that helps anyone.

Also, I told a co-worker of mine and he got it on his second try as well. All he said was that a freind told him about it and that was good enough. The lady he delt with said it would only be offered until Dec. 31st, so he had until then to tell other freinds.

Of course this hasnt shown up on my bill being I just did it about an hour ago. But all should be good.
 
Got shot down in my first attempt, saying the email was never sent to me (I didn't get the email).

Called again the next day and said I saw this online. The rep asked me several times if I got the email. I said I vaguely remember getting an email but not sure. She reviewed my account and said no email was sent and she can't give it, even after asking in all possible ways I know. Finally I asked her to check with her supervisor or if I could talk to supervisor. She put me on hold for about 5 mins and came back to tell her supervisor reviewed my account and agreed to give the promo :)

Question about the "Month in Advance" on first bill for data promo

I'm finding that some people had the "month in advance" added to their first bill with the new promo plan, causing it to be far more expensive.

This is only for this first bill, correct? After this first MEGA bill it will no longer have the "Month in Advance" added to it, and I should expect the bill to be for one month again?

I'm sorry if this is not tucked into the correct thread about the Unlimited Talk +Text + Data Promo Plan, but my head is going to explode from sifting through everything here.:wacko:

ALSO -- HERE IS HOW I GOT THE PROMO!

The first time I was rejected because I never received the e-mail (I'll stop there, we have all read a billion different rejections) The second time I called I continued to stress that all 3 numbers on the family plan were eligible for upgrades-- we all wanted DX's with unlimited data, so the plan was perfect for us. Also pushed the loyalty factor (My mom has been a customer since Alltell)

I was very well behaved the whole time, too dancedroid

3rd time is a charm... first time was a lady named Melissa. She gave me the whole story about it being an email offer. 2nd time I got Vince. I mentioned I saw it on droidforums and he said it was probably some dude that posted it from his email and it got out of control. Today I spoke with Dan and he did mention that it was an email and text promo, but I said the ad doesn't mention anything about it being an exclusive offer by email only. He went to check with a supervisor and came back and I got it. He said as long as the computer will allow him to do it then I was good to go. Success! Thanks everyone for posting what worked and didn't work.
 
I called the number on the ad and got the plan :D. I just told the rep that I had been researching the promotion online and wanted more info. I am located in East Texas. Good luck friends!

Oh i forgot to mention....the rep never asked about an email and we got to keep my husbands corporate discount....

haha! true. that statement was totally sarcastic fyi. Ya its nice to have a cheap gardener, but they bring a lot more negative than positive. Back to the topic at hand. Any advice or input on a better promo for me? I've been a loyal verizon customer for 5 years now and I have never been sent a special promo or anything.

Best I could tell you would be to find a good Corporate store with a GM that is customer oriented. I've found one here and they always do the best they can for customers. I've heard them actually bring such promotions/plan changes to the customers attention w/o the customer even asking. Course that's only 1 of about 30+ stores here, and the other are the exact opposite..

But then in CA in general there may not be many 'promotions' since you all have so much money anyway you don't need them (besides, the state needs all the tax money it can get, lol). :icon_ banana:
